I'm pleased with the ease of this chief knife's blade cutting and dicing but the handle is all plastic feel, something that gives me the willies . The fit is okay, I've got a medium size woman's hand , seems to me the handle is overly large and i'll bet my sons might like this chef's knife more than myself

Make sure not to machine wash this!!! No scrubbers, at least not to use the green side! I did notice that the knife isn't as sharp when cutting meats. The center of the knife seems to lose its sharpness quickly, but the end and the edge closer to the point are sharp as can be. I ordered the ceramic rod so I hope this will help keep the knife sharper a little longer. By the way, I did read reviews that the knife loses its sharpness rather quickly

Really nice knife. The 10” is super well balanced and well weighted. I work in a kitchen and this knife is a good workhorse with both prep and line work. Takes an edge well

Overall it's a great knife so far, my only gripe is that the weight and texture (of the handle) feel very commercial. That's not the worst thing in the world but I like a little indulgence in my home use products.

I'm just an everyday at home cook that was looking for a quality, durable, and well performing knife to make my experience in the kitchen better. Messermeister has done a fantastic job with this piece. I could go on and on. I will be purchasing more of their products for sure! The biggest disappointment of this purchase is that I have to listen to my significant other complain about the knife every time she uses it… here we are at the height of the Jersey tomato season, and it won't even slice a tomato. After looking around for a week or so, I kept seeing the Fibrox come up as the best value budget knife, and that the Swiss modern was the upgraded version with a better handle. Just so happened to be my birthday this month so asked for this from my Dad. Is asking for kitchen appliances for your birthday one of the first signs of getting old?.

It isn’t the absolute sharpest but it’s far more durable than my Japanese stuff. And though it’s not the most beautiful it’s the most forgiving. It’s a wonderfully balanced knife and the shape and weight means that its up to every task I’ve put against it. While there may be more specialized options if you are only going to have one good knife in your kitchen this would be my vote
