Marmot Limestone 8 vs Zpacks Duplex

With only me inside it, I was overwhelmed by the size of it. The zippers on the rainfly were up to the task, but the zippers on the tent body were undersized in my estimation. They will likely fail when abused by the children. On the plus side, there are 4 sliders on the main door, so when one wears out, just use another

\- I like a larger space away from flies and mossies in Oz to hang out and read at the end of the day if required. Also if holed up avoiding rain the extra space is nice.

I bought this tent a month ago and have set it up to test it out. This will work great for our family's multiple upcoming trips. Our old tent was 50 lbs and I couldn't lift it by myself. This one weights half that amount and takes up a fraction of the space

So I won't go into any more specs on it because I'm sure you can find a lot of information out there about it. Let's talk about my opinion of this ten...

This is also a really big open D shaped door.. There is a little vent on the end there in the spare room that you can use to have a nice cross breeze ...

I want bug protection and rain protection because I don't like bugs (f ticks) and sleeping out gives me the creeps sometimes, so not really into the tarp and bivy. It seems to me like the Zpacks Duplex (occasionally bring my wife or a friend) would be a good option, being 19oz and having bug and rain protection integrated (not a tarp or bivy system, so it's simpler i.e. one piece)
