I have a pair of Blizzard Rustler 10s with the Look Pivot 15 CAST system. Love the setup but it's a tad heavy -- I've been looking at the Blaze 106 as well as an alternative. I'd just swap the CAST bindings onto the Blaze and put a regular Look pivot on the Blizzards. But anyways - if you're looking at some slightly heavier skis that would work for 70/30, I'd add the Blizzard Rustler 10 to the list

i need some help deciding which backcountry skis to buy. I have been skiing the Volkl Gotama the past seven years, and they are totally fine for what they are - i only use them for resorting and off-piste. The Gotamas are really nice in deep powder, but they aren’t that playful and fun. I find them a bit to stiff, and not very agile. Its also worth noting that we don’t get deep powder every week, so it would be nice to have something that also works for harsher conditions. I currently have a pair of Salomon QST pro 100 boots that works fine for skinning, and i have decided on the Salomon Shift bindings. I will probably use them 70/30 resorting and skinning. Im 180cm and weight in at 80kg. I don’t have much experience skinning and i know weight is important, but i don’t feel like going narrower than 95 (feel free to argue against me).

New backcountry skis

It’s been narrowed down to the Look Pivot 15 GW, Marker Griffon 13 ID, and the Marker Jester 16 ID (18 Pro is the same price as 16). I’m finding the Griffons are ~ $100 cheaper, Pivots are highly regarded as indestructible, and Jesters are beefier Griffons. I’ll likely have these skis for a long time and will be skiing around 80 days this winter so I need my binding to hold up well.

 I've been on it for a while and it's got all you want. On that note, this is why most freestyle and slopestyle skiers trust Look, just like me. I trust Look. Thank you for watching

The next two days is where they really shined, once everything was skied up I spent my time charging crud. My lord these skis busted through anything and gave me the confidence to rip without hesitation and the 94 underfoot felt so solid especially when landing any air.

 Hey, what's up everyone? This is Andrew from the Ski Monster. Today, I'm going to talk about one of our favorite all-mountain bindings, the Marker Griffin. Before I get started, first and foremost, we always recommend you see a certified shop technician to make sure that binding is properly adjusted to your ski boot, but if you find yourself in a pinch on top of the hill, I'm going to go over quick ways to kind of adjust your bindings to make sure your boots are properly fit. One of the most common issues we see with a binding that's not properly adjusted is wiggle room in the toe, and that's due to the AFD not being properly adjusted to the toe height of the boot
