Linksys WRT3200ACM vs TP-Link EAP235-Wall

Our Roku TV hasn't buffered or lost connection since. Pandora works on everyone's devices without buffering, and no one has any issues connecting on any device. Really Linksys? To top it all off, they haven't issued any firmware updates for this router like they used to do for all their other models in the past. For over $200, you would think there might be at least a little follow-on support

Pay CLOSE attention to this unit, how it works, and what it does before you buy it!! 1) Omada interface / controller - as normal, great concept but total trash to implement. I de-registered the software, wiped the initial setup and started over rather than trying to mess with it (its only good for multipoint administration from a central location IMHO) - IE: I did the stand alone fallback mode through a web interface and fixed the problem (much simpler setup) 2) NOT a true "wireless mesh" unit. Only some (mostly omada) wireless networks will work with this thing. My "netgear" router and this unit would not work together for a wireless AP setup

They refuse to give me the next tier model (MX4200) as a replacement. * Signal isn't great, and there are no options to boost signal using stock firmware, flashing with DDWRT doesn't help because there's a hardware limiter that prevents you from boosting the signal past 30 dBm. Only option seems to be to spend more money for an additional access point. * This router continually pings heartbeat

The ReoLink cameras support 5G and 2.4G WiFi (not simultaneously), but yet again, the signal continues to disappoint. This is still a pretty cool product, and it has applications (especially related to affordable outdoor mesh), but it certainly didn't accomplish what I was hoping it would.

To my amazment, I discovered that the build-in WiFi antenna/circuitry inside my inexpensive 3-year old laptop was able to receive the WiFi signal (and still at a very impressive speed/bandwidth) out to a distance of at least 390 feet from the house (I did not try to go further, because I was tired of tramping up the mountainside in the snow), despite the fact that there were many dozens of large trees (and also bushes) in the signal path between the house and my varied test locations in the forest. I then ran some additional coverage range tests in other directions (since all of the above-mentioned tests had been confined within the same 90 degree slice of the 360 degree coverage radius), all of them heavily forested, and these further tests confirmed that the signal reached to at least the same distance in every direction as had been found earlier, with the sole exception of one direction, where an intervening steeply-rising hillside/mountainside completely occluded the line-of sight path about 100 feet from the house; this limited the WiFi range in this direction to a bit less than 300 feet from the house. In conclusion, I can say that this WiFi router vastly exceeded all of my expectations! It's performance continues to amaze me today, about 6 days after the router was first installed. And to realize that I paid less than $50 for this router at Amazon Marketplace

2) Range may be an issue. I have about a 320 foot straight shot through a moderately wooded area to hit a wireless camera. Not gonna happen with the stock antennas. Had to purchase "Outdoor 15dBi Dual Band WiFi 2
