 Like any OLED, it has a near-infinite contrast ratio that results in perfect black levels. Because OLEDs also turn each pixel on and off, it doesn't have a local dimming feature, as there's no backlight. There's no blooming around bright objects either, and it looks fantastic in dark rooms. On the other hand, if you want to use the TV in a bright room, then a high peak brightness is important to overcome glare

 It's not anything special for TV speakers, but it's not bad either. It doesn't produce much bass, which is normal for a TV. It doesn't get as loud as the LG C1, but it's still loud enough for a noisy room. However, if you want the best sound possible, get a soundbar or invest in a proper surround sound setup

 We'll start with the contrast. A high contrast ratio results in deep, dark blacks, which is good if you want to watch movies in a dark room like a home theater environment. Like any OLED, it has a near-infinite contrast ratio that results in perfect black levels. Because OLEDs also turn each pixel on and off, it doesn't have a local dimming feature, as there's no backlight

 The biggest knock to it is that the TV feels wobbly on the stand, but this obviously isn't a problem if you wall mount it. Now onto our test results. We'll start with the contrast. LG C2 OLED TV Review - Should you buy it?

Replaced my 65" OLED B7a from 2017 with a 77" C2 and I've been running it for a week as of now. The picture quality after calibration has improved over the older model. I feel the black levels on this device are far far better than the B7a ever were, which BTW required a lot of "tinkering" to get to what the C2 did pretty much out of the box. My old OLED had no burn-in that I could see, even after 5 years of daily usage, but the older OLED panel was never as uniform in solid colors test as this panel is, not even when the B7a was new

 I feel the black levels on this device are far far better than the B7a ever were, which BTW required a lot of "tinkering" to get to what the C2 did pretty much out of the box. My old OLED had no burn-in that I could see, even after 5 years of daily usage, but the older OLED panel was never as uniform in solid colors test as this panel is, not even when the B7a was new. Especially watching dark scenes now, there is no fixed pattern noise anymore.  The scene motion on this TV is better what the B7a has, which was already good, but it had issues with some stuttering under certain conditions

Big step up from the OLED B7a, but the whole ads and data collection is concerning.

 The Rec 709 colour gamut is also accurate with some very slight red saturation errors and again our Delta E errors average 1.5 which is well below the visible threshold. With SDR film and TV content the LG C2 is excellent with superb black levels, accurate colour reproduction which is natural and vivid when required with lifelike skin tones adding realism to faces. Films look cinematic with excellent motion with 24 frames per second material with no induced judder or added motion blur that's not present in the content

 Blacks are strong with excellent just above black shadow detail retrieval thanks to the A9 Gen 5 processing which improves the performance coming out of black. Moving to HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision picture performance we see again an improvement this year from LG with the C2. The biggest bonus is the much better out of black performance with just above black shadow detail being far more noticeable with no issues of black flashing or blockiness. Motion is also improved with excellent 24 frames per second playback adding to the cinematic images on display with HDR content

 With SDR film and TV content the LG C2 is excellent with superb black levels, accurate colour reproduction which is natural and vivid when required with lifelike skin tones adding realism to faces. Films look cinematic with excellent motion with 24 frames per second material with no induced judder or added motion blur that's not present in the content. Blacks are strong with excellent just above black shadow detail retrieval thanks to the A9 Gen 5 processing which improves the performance coming out of black. Moving to HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision picture performance we see again an improvement this year from LG with the C2

 We'll start our pixel peeping with the panel uniformity of this retail sample C2 we purchased from a UK retailer. With a 5% black slide there are no obvious banding or vignetting present and it remains clean at all the way up to 100% full screen brightness. Video processing is excellent with the powerful new A9 Gen 5 processor serving up some much improved upscaling of low resolution sources to the panel's UHD native resolution. Lines are straight and free from ringing and fizzing with excellent detail retrieval and very few sharpening issues

LG C2 OLED Evo TV Review - Is this the best OLED package of 2022?

 But what is the C2 like? Well, I mean, it's more of the same It's fantastic I did play a quite a few different games on the LG C2 using my Xbox and I had a fantastic time The C2 is a 120 Hertz display and it supports VRR Free sync and g-sync. So whether you're connecting a console to it or you're connecting your gaming PC You're gonna have a pretty good time Now certain things that make this TV even better for gaming than last year are things like I mentioned earlier with the colors and the shadow Detail that could be a massive thing for a gamer and actually probably one of the only downsides of last year's C1 So the fact that that is so much better this year is a big positive the C2 might have shot itself in the foot I'll tell you why now one of the issues with gaming is something that LG have done And now I can't speak for the 42 inch I think this is gonna be where it really matters But something that only TVs have used for quite a while is something called BFI and that is black frame insertion I'm not gonna go massively into the technical aspect of what it is Basically in order to improve motion and because of how fast the input lag on this TV is It's about one millisecond and on to make sure the TV didn't just look horrendous and choppy and horrible They insert black frames between each frame now You shouldn't notice this while looking at it, but that actually weirdly works very very well now This apparently isn't supported anymore on the 48 inch nap I don't know about the 42 inch I'm yet to try one now the downside to doing that is that it can make the display Darker and if you're trying to get as much of the display out then you might drop that feature So maybe that's why they've done it, but you have to leave it with me for a long term few months down the road review Just to see whether that's something I think has affected me personally now What is the sound like now? The sound is fairly decent if you don't have a sound system, and you're just using it straight off of the TV It's gonna be okay now I would always recommend having an external sound system getting a subwoofer and everything like that just to take that sound to the next Level however if you're not fussed about having a super cinematic experience Then technically this will be fine. I think for most people and the day-to-day use You're not going to be that concerned about the sound. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination It's just not amazing now They do have an AI sound Pro which enhances the sound and creates virtual surround sound which works Okay, and you can kind of see what they're doing with it And however, I do think it degrades the quality of the sound ever so slightly, but that's my own personal opinion So I would just recommend sticking with normal obviously we do have the ER port for HDMI and optical audio as well You can also use the TV speakers as well as an external sound system in order to enhance the sound even further and the TV continues It's Dolby support with having Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos So if you have a supported sound system, then you can use that to full advantage So LG create amazing Ola TVs and each year It just seems to be a step up and a step up and this is no exception This TV is fantastic for gamers

Due to how Sony has designed its televisions, any adjustment to the black level setting in SDR would carry over to HDR on the same input, affecting the peak brightness and EOTF tracking however slightly, which will require further correction down the line

The A95K&rsquo;s crisp, clear sound and speaker connection make it a good choice if you want to integrate your TV into an A/V receiver-powered surround system but, otherwise, we recommend the LG C2 because of its superior picture quality and friendlier price.

Sony Bravia XR 65-Inch Class A95K OLED TV Review

 I know that there's a couple of tvs like the lg or samsung OLEDs and qd oleds that might be slightly faster maybe slightly better for gaming But for someone like me, this is just fine and it looks amazing two hdmi 2.1 ports that can do 4k at 120 One of them is the erc port So if you had a soundbar speaker system and two game consoles It would be more difficult to get everything running at 4k at 120 unless your receiver can pass through that 4k at 120 signal Which a lot of them are starting to be able to do so really if you're that big of a gamer But you want amazing cinema quality picture Then you just get a receiver that can send that signal to your tv and you're good to go But when you're playing in a bright scene or a dark scene trying to hide from enemies You can see everything with an amazing picture quality and super low input lag with this instant response This tv is amazing for gaming and one thing that I really haven't noticed on this tv in any of the content Is that dirty screen or screen uniformity issues? So let's check that test out because that's one thing before we compare it to the a90j that I wanted to show you Okay So what you're looking for on this test is you watch the hockey player moving left or right and you try to see if you Notice any like blotchy areas behind the hockey player as you go by would be simulated in fast sports or video gaming at a high Rate and for the most part I see nothing These qd oleds are amazing with regards to screen uniformity and that showed up in that 4k shootout Both the qd oled scored very highly in that the s95b and this a95k while the lgg2 traditional W oled struggled so definitely a big win for these samsung display qd oleds And honestly, it's like the only test that I really wanted to show on here and it scores quite well on that So i'm pretty stoked about this tv overall, but let's compare it to the a90j before we wrap up So here we are comparing the a90j on the right master series oled versus the a95k qd oled on the left And as you can see we actually flipped the qd oled around on the stand So we had to unscrew the stand lift the tv flip it around set it up onto the stand So it's about an inch higher than it was and then screw it back in and I actually like it better flipped around like this Because it can be close to the wall and it can provide that cover if you have to run cords down the wall You won't even see them like this In addition, it actually helps the tv stand more upright where if you have the tv stand flipped toward the back The tv sort of tips back a little bit and if you have ceiling lights in your room Then those will be more evident on the screen as it's angling toward those in the reflection So I like it facing forward and with it up against the wall And as you can see compared to the a90j the a95k is just a little bit brighter and has a little bit more color And I think the detail is a little bit more evident in the darker areas on the screen The qd oled has a little more color in general, but you can definitely see it pushes a little more green It has a little bit more blues So having that blue layer qd oled that then steps down to the different colors and can be much more vibrant Just gives you more of that qled kind of color in an oled tv And just to let you know the settings on these two are both exactly the same. It's in custom mode It's on brightness preferred. We have the live color on medium We could juice both of them a little bit more and it gives the qd oled even a little bit more of an advantage But this looked good on screen where we could show you that there's definitely more detail in the qd oled And yet it's not just pushed to the max like it's not in vivid mode

 We got pretty similar results from each display, with the LG and the Sony hitting about 8.4 milliseconds, going from zero to 153, so black is zero and 153 is gray, and the Samsung marginally beat them at 7.9 milliseconds in the same test, putting all three of them in the upper echelon of living room gaming displays. Now, while the G2 is the only one with proper NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, all three displays have variable refresh rate and automatic low latency mode, so I'm not expecting that to be a big differentiating factor
