The best 42-inch TV we've tested is the LG OLED42C2PUA. It's a fantastic TV that delivers stunning picture quality, especially in dark rooms, thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio. Its OLED panel delivers perfect black uniformity, with no distracting blooming or haloing around bright objects in dark scenes. It's fantastic for a variety of uses, including if you want to use the smaller size as a PC monitor, and its wide viewing angle is great for use as a PC monitor, as the sides of the screen remain uniform even if you're sitting close to the screen. You can also easily share your screen with someone else, and they'll see the same thing you do.

It has great accuracy even without calibration, resulting in life-like images without the added expense of having to calibrate. HDR content looks excellent thanks to the near-infinite contrast and its color gamut that displays a wide range of colors. It also has decent HDR peak brightness to make some highlights stand out, but if peak brightness is important to you, the Samsung QN90B QLED is a 43-inch TV that gets even brighter but doesn't produce the same perfect black levels, so the LG is better overall.

If you want something a bit bigger than the Samsung Q60/Q60A QLED, the best 42-Inch TV we've tested is the LG OLED42C2PUA. This TV delivers remarkable performance compared to other small models. It performs best in dark rooms because it has a near-infinite contrast ratio that produces perfect black levels, and there isn't any blooming around bright objects. It means it's remarkable for watching movies, and the 4k resolution allows you to stream your favorite content in crisp detail.

If you want to use it in a wide seating area or place it in the kitchen and walk around while watching TV, the wide viewing angle means that the image remains consistent as you move off to the side. Even in bright rooms, it has incredible reflection handling, meaning visibility won't be an issue in most rooms. It also has good SDR peak brightness, but if you want something even brighter, check out the Samsung QN90B QLED, which has remarkable peak brightness but doesn't deliver the same perfect black levels as the LG.

If you find typical 24, 27, or 32-inch monitors too small, you should look for larger displays. Although you can easily game on a 55-inch TV, you might find that too big for a desk, so monitor manufacturers are starting to release more large-screen monitors in the 40 to 50-inch range. There are LED options with a 43-inch screen like the Gigabyte AORUS FV43U, and there are slightly larger OLEDs at 48 inches. The advantage these sizes bring you is that they maintain the typical 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning you won't get black bars on the side in certain games like with an ultrawide.

There are a few downsides to this screen size, though. They tend to be expensive, and there aren't many models available, but they're growing in popularity. Also, these monitors don't usually have good ergonomics as they come with fixed stands, so it's harder to move the screen around to share with a friend for co-op gaming unless you have the desk space to move the entire monitor.

 I can’t really run an Ethernet cable through the wall, so I need to make a decision fast.

 Sound is impressive. Google TV works great and the Live OTA guide with ATSC3.0 is really cool. But I’m considering returning it since I’m facing a quite annoying know issue with Wi-Fi turning off or losing connection almost every day

Amazing contrast but constant Wi-Fi issues

The HDMI 2.1 ports support up to 120Hz in 4K HDR and are compatible with variable refresh rate (VRR), but there is a catch: like all Sony displays right now, VRR is only promised for an undefined “future” firmware update and is not currently enabled. If you’re planning to game with a PlayStation 5, this isn&#x27;t a big deal since the PS5 doesn’t support VRR yet either. But if you’re using an Xbox, it certainly bears consideration

 Get a sound bar or better yet, a true sound system. A great display like this deserves that kind of quality audio. 

 Unlike Vizio, Samsung, or TCL, Sony continues to create remotes that offer buyers the ability to control just about everything, and as such have a button to do just about anything. The company still includes the number pad, for example, and there is a giant blank space at the bottom that is likely included as a grip which expands the height of the controller even further. A Plague Tale in particular looks remarkable. 

Audio quality of this television is better than many other thin displays on the market, but it’s still not one I would recommend for those who like quality sound. Audio sounds like it is coming directly at you from the screen – because it is: Sony uses a technology that plays sound through the display itself. With certain Sony soundbar systems, the display can even be used as a center channel in a multi-speaker system.

 I don’t know of any other TV manufacturer that has them.  The sound this TV produces is also really good. There are actuators behind the panel that vibrate to produce sound with pinpoint on-screen accuracy and incredible crispness! I personally have Sony’s A7000 sound system(bought with the LG, HIGHLY RECOMMEND) so the TV is used as a center channel. Fantastic!  Finally, the A80J uses Google TV OS and I must say, it’s great! The UI is very intuitive

 But would you use your Tv as a center channel? I wonder how it sounds versus an average speaker? I'll have to give it a whirl, but both of these items are missing on the A80j. And last but not least, on the differences is that remote. I've already spoken about it, but if you're in the dark, I'd highly recommend that backlit remote for any Sony Tv. It's pretty nice, and I hope more Tv companies catch on to the backlit remote

 I'm gonna go over the look and the features of this Adj showing some of the differences from the A90j as well as how it compares to the Lg G1 Gallery Oled that I just happen to have it mounted above the A80j.  So to try this out, we're going to go to settings, account and sign in, our account, we're going to remove the account, and as you can see here, the only option you get is to remove the account and reset the device. So that's what happens when we do that. I can already tell the picture settings changed. So now that we're signed out, or I guess it's going to restart real quick

 So to test this out, we change the hue in the color settings to something that's quite awful, just so we notice an immediate difference once we sign out of the TV to see if it saved the settings or not. As you can see here, hue is all the way up to 50. So to try this out, we're going to go to settings, account and sign in, our account, we're going to remove the account, and as you can see here, the only option you get is to remove the account and reset the device. So that's what happens when we do that

 It's a lower-end model compared to the A90J, so how does it perform in comparison?

 It's still an OLED, so of course it delivers exceptional picture quality,

 but like its older brother, it still lacks some gaming features that we normally see on high-end

 Like with all of our reviews, we buy and test the products ourselves,

 in this case the 55-inch A80J. But it's also available in 65 and 77 inches as well.

 We expect those other sizes to perform similarly.

 Let's start off with the design. The Sony A80J has a premium style that looks similar to the

 higher-end A90J from the front. It's a bit thicker than the A90J, but shouldn't stick

 out much if you wall-mount it. Overall, the TV should look nice in any setup.

 The stand is two metal feet that you can move to three different positions.

 There's a standard position, where the TV sits flat to the table. You can also raise the feet

 by about 3 inches, so it should be good enough to place most sound bars in front and not block

 the screen. Lastly, you can bring the feet inwards about 7 inches on either side for a more narrow
