Overall this dishwasher which cost about 25% more than my prior LG dishwasher, but is louder, with less options, and the components feel cheaper. We replaced our prior LG dishwasher with this one because we thought it was the newer model of the prior one that had been discontinued. And the only reason I was able to convince my husband to buy another LG (after a nightmare warranty issue that lasted 11 months with LG - thank you Costco for honoring their warranty!) was because black stainless is not an industry standard color across brands and I wanted my full kitchen to match. The control panel is the most expensive part of the dishwasher, it is not covered by the 10 year parts warranty, and it was evidently not designed or built for long-term survivability. It can't be repaired because its design is proprietary. Since this two-year old dishwasher model is now obsolete (no doubt because it was poorly designed), so is the control panel!

Hey all, so the research I’ve been doing says that the best washer seems to be a mechanical speed queen or Maytag. However, my partner and I have had nothing but trouble with agitators in terms of damage to our clothes. We don’t have kids, so we don’t have super frequent stains.

I absolutely DESPISE this dishwasher. You can hear it running anywhere in the house because it vibrates and buzzes like crazy. It doesn’t even do a decent job of cleaning and it already sounds like it’s broken, not even a month after owning it. Do not recommend at all

I have been in rentals for 30 plus years. (From 1988 to 2001 dishwashers worked great; steam poured out the front, they were super loud and you could put a "combination pizza" in there and it would be gone, they lasted forever—and this one has finger-print-proof super thick stainless steel!) Then the whole "Decibel rating thing came on" because some grandma or hipsters from a Remington Steel rerun where some cocktail generation dude was trying to woo an angel-face-bride with Moscow Mules to the tune of Marvin Gaye and then the DW clicked on. The old review-crowd wanted a quiet setting? Meanwhile the whole country got honking horn things to lock their cars, and nobody covered their mouths anymore when they coughed—basically, the whole country got "NO Manners!" anymore. And for some reason wanted dishwashers that were quiet? I threw away my last two 2016 Whirlpool's (I know they are made 'assembled' in the same warehouse) but this beauty is solid and actually washes them, in an era where we actually went to the moon and back

While it seems somewhat small, you can get a lot on it. The operating panel is well laid out and pretty simple to use, once you power the dishwasher on you have several choices to run custom washes or simple select automatic, the dishwasher will figure how dirty and long to run. Maintenance also seems pretty simple, the inside cabinet filter is removable for cleaning, simply wash in the sink and reinstall. This dishwasher also comes with LG's ThinQ (WiFi), you can download LG's ThinQ app and set it up on your cell phone, there, you can custom set your wash cycle and it will let you know when the cycle is over, pretty handy

The simpler, the better. I would avoid front loading washing machines as they tend to have many more issues with leaks and mold. I've always preferred top loading machines as they tend to have higher capacities and modern ones without an agitator work amazingly well. I have a Maytag high capacity top loader that we got about 3 years ago when we bought the house we are in now, its been a great machine

No problem it says motor covered for 10 years. Called support and after a month and 1/2 of runaround they denied warranty as outside 2 years. LG’s quality has errored over time and customer service is very disappointing.
