There aren't any OLED TVs available at a budget price point, but the LG A2 OLED comes close. It's an excellent TV, delivering similar picture quality to the more expensive OLED TVs on this list, but it lacks all of the advanced features found on the other models. So yes, this tv is a home theater all by itself and just to further the point. There is nothing i like more than to pop on a movie in dolby vision, where i can use dolby vision, bright mode and really take advantage of all the positives of the a90j

 If you can control the light to some degree, whether it be shades or blackout curtains or if you just watch tv at night, oleds have a huge advantage, and if you game then many would say, lg oleds have even more of an advantage. So that might be another fork in your decision making road the fact that the lg c1 and g1 both have working vrr, g-sync and free sync, as well as connectivity, where lg has traditionally shined it's not hard to recommend either the lg g1 for 77 inch. If you want the brightest gaming oled or the always popular lg c series, including the new 83 inch lg c1, where you may lose a little on brightness and processing but get all the gaming features and it's a fraction of the price and when comparing the two 83-Inch tvs, there are some differences between the a90j and the lg c, one which is two thousand dollars less like the a90j heatsink that the c1 doesn't have and the audio where the lg c1 sounds pretty good on the stand, but not as good when wall mounted With their downward firing speakers and then of course, you're talking about the top master series calibrated oled from sony versus the more mainstream lg c1. So do those features on the sony justify an additional two thousand dollars, i'm pretty sure the 83 inch lg c1 would be a great choice for many gamers and many would be excited to save two thousand dollars while getting a better gaming tv from a technical standpoint

The 83-inch sony a90j is huge and amazing, but can i legitimately recommend it for most people, let's find out? What'S up this, be the installer and it's been a minute since i've sat down and reviewed the tv. So now i have the 83 and 65 inch sony. A90J - and i wanted to review the a90j with the larger size in mind, what are the differences it has from the smaller versions? How good does this tv look with various content and really help you decide if the sony master series oled is worth it or if i'd recommend another option like the sony a80j, the lg g1 or a top lcd tv before we get into it, smash the like Button, if you don't mind helping the channel grow and subscribe and ring the notification bell, if you aren't already subbed so you'll, be notified when i upload a new video, so i did a big unboxing video with this 83 inch 890 j. With the help of my wonderful wife jen, i'm not sure if it's super popular because of the tv or her, but either way check it out and we installed it on the wall with two other oleds above it, and i even did a settings video so check

Sony A90J - Should You Buy it? - XR83A90J

 Mapping to gradation preferred in-game to let the television's dynamic tone mapping take over in terms of design. I prefer installing the feed in its natural position allowing the screen to sit flush to the surface, giving a unique minimalistic vibe. Although you can switch the feet for higher clearance to accommodate a soundbar. We found the onboard acoustic surface audio plus speakers decent enough to dispense with a mid-range soundbar, especially after you run the acoustic auto calibration, using the microphone on the remote control to optimize the sound profile for your room

 Tv led, rather than player-led dolby vision, even better upscaling, more granular, film mode or cinemotion control for film mode, interlacing and, of course, hdmi 2.1 support, even by my standards of having reviewed most of the flagship tvs from various manufacturers over the past 14 years, the bravia Xr processor, on the sony a90j is a bit special, delivering the most advanced upscaling and the most impactful hdr i've seen from a consumer oled tv. So far. I hope some of these goodness will trickle down to the less expensive sony atj without aluminium heatsink, which is of course available in 77 inch screen size with multiple upgrades in place

 If you are sensitive to the inherent 24p stutter, that's more obvious on oleds, due to their near instantaneous pixel response time, you can bump smoothness up to 1, which will use motion, compensated frame, interpolation or mcfi to smooth out the stutter, but doesn't introduce as much so Oprah effect and interpolation artifacts, as rival mcfi implementations from other tv manufacturers, similar to how it was on some older sony tvs if you select motionflow custom with both smoothness and clearness left at minimum and then set fill mode to high. This will also apply a small dose of frame interpolation, mainly to improve the clarity of 24p films. Furthermore, because the internal tv apps operate at 60hz natively, it is imperative to set film mode to high to extract 24p frames and eradicate telescenic judder, for example, in this slow panning shot from the queen's gambit on netflix, with motion flow disabled on this 60 fps test Pattern motion resolution came in at the sample and hole baseline of 300 lines. Engaging motion flow could increase motion resolution to 650 lines, which could be improved even further to 1080 lines or even higher by activating clearness variable intensity, black frame insertion or bfi under the motion flow custom sub-menu

Furthermore, you can even use the television speakers as a center channel in your surround sound setup, although matching the timber and tone to your other speakers may be tricky if you are an audiophile, the bundle remote control has a premium feel to it featuring a brushed metallic Front fascia dedicated hotkeys to youtube netflix, disney plus and amazon prime video, not to mention a cool backlit function, that's governed by both motion and light sensors, so the remote will only light up when you move the remote in the dark. Four hdmi connections are supplied at the back of the a90j, of which hdmi, 3 and hdmi 4 are hdmi 2

 With the same mediatek mt5895 soc, we switched to uhd 120p resolution on our nvidia rtx 3090 graphics card and put up this mixed resolution test pattern from ryan mazuola. Initially, we were delighted to see the sony a90j resolve single pixel horizontal lines in sdr, which last year's xh90 wasn't able to do. Our joy was short-lived, though, because once we switched to hdr, we started seeing random interference indicating insufficient bandwidth, in spite of sony's additional companion chip, which constitutes bravia xr, together with the mediatek mt-5895-soc. Our suspicion was further supported by this quantization test pattern from the display hdr app, revealing obvious posterization at 4k, 120p, even at the 10 bit level, which went away once we dropped the resolution back down to 4k 60p outside of test patterns, the posterization at 4k 120p In hdr could also be seen on the windows wallpaper not to mention on the skies in dirt 5, with resolution set to high frame rate mode setting smooth gradation

Sony A90J Review - Most Impactful HDR I've Seen from an OLED TV!

 Needless to say the TV is kick-ass & would get 5 stars had it arrived undamaged. But my experience & opinion of amazon is they are a more expensive EBAY, & are screwing over their marketplace vendors!  As for the TV setup itself. The most difficult thing about the TV is Getting the remote to work with the soundbar, & Comcast box, & Tv isn't easy, & if you have Comcast you lose the page feature when you bring up the guide using TV remote. And must go channel by channel unless you use your comcast remote

TV arrived DOA & Nothing about return was done through amazon. So confusing, but.....

The remote control doss not permit page down or up. As a result you have to scroll line by line. Very tedious. Additionally, the Google TV system is the worst

 However the Bravia core app needs to be upgraded or you can't watch these great movies. So SONY if you read these reviews I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE GETTING BACK WITH ME SO WE COULD POSSIBLY FIX THIS SITUATION.

All imax enhanced movies freeze up on the Sony app Bravia core. My internet speed is plenty strong enough to be able to watch these movies but they keep freezing after every 30 seconds or so. Otherwise the tv it's self is great. If the app could be fixed I would give it ten stars

The media could not be loaded. Would I buy it again? Only if it was around (83 inch) $4,000 or less. I didn't return this TV but there is a hard regret in my stomach I spent so much on it, I am haunted by the thoughts, (I wish) I would have gone with a top-of-the-line Samsung, 4K or 8K TV for almost half the price. The picture is nice but not $6,000 nice IMO
