 There's a color version and a monochrome version. This is an extremely versatile and well-rounded camera. So here's what I want to talk about in this video. So the Q2 was released in March of 2019

 but I also think that you can control this a little bit With the new metering mode that they've given you for highlight priority. So image quality on here is absolutely outstanding. Reason number three would be versatility. So the way that this camera works is like it takes advantage of this high resolution and you have these crop modes that you can work within

 This is a very unique lens. You're not going to find it anywhere else in Leica's lineup. What also is special about this lens? Not only is it extremely sharp, but it does have a macro function so you can twist the front part of the lens go into macro mode. You combine this with the crop modes and you can get some really interesting macro shots

Is the Leica Q2 worth it in 2022?

 Hey, it's Jordan being filmed on the Leica Q2 in Cinema 4k, which actually looks pretty decent, but unfortunately it's basically useless as this camera has no ports, just an SD card slot and a battery door on it as well. It only shoots in program, auto exposure and this is a camera for people who know what they're doing. You're not gonna be hands-on with this camera, it's a shame. Decent quality, beautiful lens, but I don't think anyone should be using this for higher-end video

 If you were to buy a 28 millimeter 1.7 Leica M lens, it probably will a more expensive than this entire system. So considering the image quality that we're getting, the experience that we're getting, and the fact that the camera is fun to use if you've got the budget for it, that might make this Q2 something that you're really gonna enjoy taking photos with. Now of course this is just our first impressions of this full production camera, but we will eventually have on DP review comm full lab tests, Then you can really get down and see what you think about the image quality compared to a lot of the stuff out there and maybe even explanation of why that JPEG color is crappy in our opinion

 The tactile response is excellent I Like the aperture dial feels like a classic like M lens. The manual focus is buttery smooth and it's really easy to click in to autofocus the macro dial. It's easy to turn back and forth. The only thing I would say is there's no click stop so you might have it halfway through

 And the photos that you get despite kind of crappy JPEG color once tweaked the way you like it are phenomenal. That has to be appreciated. This is a lot like you know the Sony Rx1r 2 and how it was also able to pair a lens perfectly with a sensor. Consider to that

 LX It's not bad. It's weird because I was interested in this camera because the Rx100 5 is amazing as the image quality is on here, particularly for 4k video, it has shortcomings. the five-minute recording limit the image stabilization. It has built an image stabilization, but it's not great

 Another interesting feature the Panasonic has introduced with this camera is the way it handles high frame rate burst mode shooting so the frame rate on Here you can shoot raw and JPEG images at a high burst rate, which is kind of the standard burst rate and it allows you to do 10 frames a second. Now, Unfortunately, the buffer fills up after 12 images, so that's just a little over a second of shooting. but you do get a full resolution raw and JPEG files. Alternatively, there is a super high frame rate burst mode on here which allows you to shoot up to 50 frames a second

 This is the Panasonic Lumix LX to compete in the high-end compact point-and-shoot category. so it's designed to compete with things like the Sony Rx100 series. It is considerably less expensive, which is nice and features a lot of the same stuff that you're going to see on the Rx100 series. It can also be viewed as a younger sibling to the LX 100, which is a slightly larger looking version of the same idea and one of the key features on here is that has a physical aperture ring

 and so when you're in aperture priority mode or if you're in manual mode, it makes it kind of nice because you're going to actually dial in your aperture that way. and with compact cameras, especially sometimes because of the physical restrictions, there's only so many knobs and dials that you can get on a camera, and so it is nice to be able to physically turn the aperture to dial it in. Another feature that a lot of people are really excited about is it does feature a 180-degree tilt screen. So ideally this would make a very interesting vlogging camera and I'll come back to that in a minute

PANASONIC LUMIX LX10 :: THE ULTIMATE COMPACT?

 I do a lot of street photography. Size and speed of focus were prime considerations. In that regard, it has performed adequately, though not well. Pictures taken with care and time have come out well, but those taken quickly and on the run are often not as sharp as I would have liked

 The problem with the lens covering mechanism appears to be subtle, but mechanical in nature. In truth, I do not know whether it would be categorized as ordinary or accidental damage. It does not correspond to any specific accident.  At any rate, Friday night, I called the Amazon-sold extended warranty provider

  Yesterday evening, I found that the lens covering mechanism would neither open nor close fully, rendering the camera unusable. Further, over the course of a little less than a year of use, dust and lint had begun to creep into the lens mechanism and could not be removed by cleaning the surface of the lens. The problem with the lens covering mechanism appears to be subtle, but mechanical in nature. In truth, I do not know whether it would be categorized as ordinary or accidental damage

 Maybe I’m just used to Canon dslr/point-shoots.  I don’t really like how it limits videos to 15min. Not sure if it’s for fear of overheating… Gopro’s have a feature that continuously record. Disappointment…

 I actually purchased a Canon powershot camera after this that has a 40X zoom. (the Canon is also a more user-friendly camera for amateurs) So I’ll probably end up using my Panasonic for macros and portraits, and my Canon for zoom shots (like taking pictures of birds). With that in mind, if you’re on a budget and only wanting to buy a single camera, I would go for one of the Panasonics that offers a stronger zoom, or the Canon.

 This is one thing, I think, this camera excels at! • Manual mode is good and makes it easy to use for general pictures. • The auto focus is good. • Camera is fairly light and easy to carry. • I thought the battery life was good

 • The modes that allow you to manually adjust the aperture and shutter speed are easy to use and allow you to get some amazing macro pictures with the blurred background. (this camera has a lens-mounted control ring – super easy) I spent one whole day doing nothing but taking close ups of flowers and bugs and got some amazing shots. This is one thing, I think, this camera excels at! • Manual mode is good and makes it easy to use for general pictures. • The auto focus is good

 With that in mind, if you’re on a budget and only wanting to buy a single camera, I would go for one of the Panasonics that offers a stronger zoom, or the Canon.

Good Camera w/ Some Flaws

 But I'm not overly fond of the focus tech. I would much prefer to set the focus in the center, as it is configured it jumps around even though the subject is positioned center frame. I sometimes find the touch screen to be as bothersome as useful. I like that it can shoot RAW, although I had difficulty coordinating Panasonic's RAW format with editing soft ware

A decent camera, for its niche, but riddled with problems. The biggest problem are the batteries. The proprietary Panasonic battery is in short supply. Looks like it's back ordered several months

 There are second party batteries, but one must be really careful they are not quality controlled and may jam the battery slot. Even batteries from the same supplier can be inconsistent. Best if one can bite the bullet and bag a Panasonic if you can find them. That being said the camera's battery performance is dismal

Nice camera but has issues

 Wrong design strategy of the product.  The only reason I bought this camera is for it’s features like 4K, larger sensor, 1.4 lens and the handy size of the camera in comparison with other products. In spite of these features, it lacks a design strategy

 Great! But 3x is 3x! So either they should only sell an increased zoom camera or slash the price. This is NOT worth it.  I also don't like that in 4K it cuts off automatically at 15 minutes. I like to adjust my own time, thank you

 It's 2019! There are cell phones with better zooms that cost about the same and do just a few extra things than a camera - albeit yes, with an inferior chip. Ok, this has a one-inch sensor. Great! Ordered wrong, but whose fault is it?

 the GM1, even though the body of the GM1 is a bit smaller, due to the added depth from the 12-32mm lens. Speed of operation - the 12-32mm lens on the GM1 must be manually extended before taking the first shot, making it much tougher to capture fleeting scenes. 4K video - Not an option on the GM1. Not that I need it much just yet, but looking forward to that move in the not too distant future

g., the 2015 All Star Game, where 300mm zoom was essential paired with the EM5), or the LS100 where I need quick access to more zoom range outdoors, but the LX10 is now my EDC camera, especially when I know I'll want a mix of indoor + outdoor, or just indoor. Highly recommended if your priorities are similar.

 Now, of course, I could have put a fast lens on the GM1, I certainly own plenty of m4/3 lenses including fast primes, BUT, that's the point, really, that the very fast lens on the LX10 opens up a much wider operating window compared to the kit GM1, and to match it, I'd have to give up the zoom and use a fast prime, again lowering the versatility and speed of operation for my kind of indoor/low light shooting, so that is worth something to me.  Other quick points:  Size - the retractable lens on the LX10 makes it much easier to pocket and carry the LX10 vs. the GM1, even though the body of the GM1 is a bit smaller, due to the added depth from the 12-32mm lens. Speed of operation - the 12-32mm lens on the GM1 must be manually extended before taking the first shot, making it much tougher to capture fleeting scenes

 I briefly owned and returned the LX100 before buying the LX10 as it was just too big for the every day carry role. Further, the effective resolution due to sensor crop on the LX100 was a disappointment in the few test images I took, and the default JPEG settings left me flat, which surprised me given my preference for Pany standard JPEGs. *LS100. Own this camera for work, and the 10x zoom is really handy, but the slower lens shows indoors, even wide open
