 154CM is about as good as you can get without entering "real pain to sharpen/very expensive" territory, while 420HC is about the lowest quality knife steel even worth considering, and the $15 difference at time of writing this review is absolutely worth it.

Nice, but not as nice as I was hoping and expecting

[URL REMOVED] I personally use an Osprey pack.  Many of them come in at or around 3 pounds, which is acceptable for me.  They are a great price for the quality and lifetime warranty.  

  I don't see a reason to carry both this and the tinder from the Zippo kit at the same time.  Pick one and leave the other.

Are people over "edc'ing" just to please this page? I won't ever understand the carrying of a multi-tool, a sak and a knife. I don't understand "Students" carrying pry bars, knives, and flashlights. I just don't get office workers carrying multi-tools.

Uh, it has this bit driver here and the bit driver is actually it does have the lock for the bit and that's more than can be said for some of the other tools in the Leatherman lineup. So I appreciate that because the bid is basically carried externally

Everybody Nick Here and today a review for you of your Leatherman skeletal CX Um First, I Want to thank my buddy Jim for sending this along. It's a very nice little multi-tool that I really never have quite picked up because well, you know for a long time my everyday carry was actually one of these guys which is a little Leatherman squirt that's been mod beyond recognition. um beyond that I've also you know had a Leatherman Wave that I've loved, then a charge TTI and whatnot. and the skeletal promises to be a lighter weight version of something like your wave that you can really carry every day

 One little nice detail is that there's a washer surrounding the blade that actually stops the lock bar, so this knife can't suffer the liner lock failure. Whether the lock bar goes to the other side of the blade, it's prevented from doing that, which is just a nice little thing. and I'm glad they thought about doing that. That shows somebody at Leatherman is thinking when they're designing this lock and so the lock up is pretty solid and uh, you know, yeah, like I said, one 154cm is good to go

The Leatherman Skeletool CX Multitool: The Full Nick Shabazz Review

 Everything, especially the blade, locks in place when in use and doesn't rattle or play. The steel is very solid, the knife comes extremely sharp and retains its edge for a long time. By the way, in those sad places where they impose a limit on knives, often blades below a certain size are less restricted - I think it's no accident that this one has a blade just below the common 2.5" threshold

 I thought there must surely be a catch, but when I sent my very dirty, partially rusty, dull, poorly reassembled by me tool in for a cleanup, they did a great job fixing it up, making it look like new, and giving the blade an excellent edge. And all for free! All I had to do was print out a warranty form and send the tool in an envelope. This was 3 years after purchase - obviously I haven't really tested the lifetime claim yet, but even 3 years is a lot more than many other companies will give you, and the process was so smooth that it's literally easier for me to send it in than clean or sharpen it myself. And of course they do a better job than I could

It probably seems a bit silly to spend $80 on a pocket knife - I only got my first one because it was my birthday and I figured I'd treat myself. Am I glad to have done that! Unfortunately, that one got lost - when I gave up looking, I re-ordered without thinking. These things are amazing!  This tool is extremely high quality - the feel, the materials, the design, the hinges, everything is so well made it feels like you're holding a piece of art. The weight is just right - not too heavy and not too light, it feels perfect in your hand

 Or a cheaper one that you can't use without breaking if at all. I had the base model Skeletool, used it, loved it, and sadly lost it. Took the opportunity to review my options. Picked the Skeletool CX as it has a better full knife blade- 154CM steel- the only Leatherman with that upgrade- and avoids the half knife/half saw blade of the base model Skeletool

The Outdoor Edge SlideWinder is a compact knife that is easy to keep on hand. At just 1/4 inch thick and sporting a pocket clip, there's no reason not to carry this multi-tool on your person every day. The blade is easy to swap, and the built-in Phillips and flathead screwdrivers work well, particularly when compared to other multi-tools in the class.
Although the stainless steel frame is sufficiently sturdy, the blade carriage lock is an issue. We found it to be stiff and not always reliable. For those with larger hands, you may find this tool only allows for a three-finger grip, making prolonged use uncomfortable. Lastly, a nominal concern &#40;albeit an important one after 5 o'clock&#41; is the onboard bottle opener. It will work, but its narrow mouth struggles to bite into bottle caps. All in all, this compact tool can be quite helpful in a pinch and happily unimposing when not in use.

 It's very cheap feeling, and the knife will easily go back in with slight inward force on the blade. That being said, this is a utility blade not a knife. Realistically you are going to grabbing it out of convenience to open some food, cut a thread off your clothes or bag, or something else extremely light duty. For that type of stuff this knife will work just fine

 At least on this knife, the bottle opener doesn't stick out or get in the way as it does on the prybrid. The pocket clip is fantastic. The combination of overall size and pocket clip is what won me over from the prybrid. Comparing overall size, I also find it easier to use and manipulate than the EAB and the EAB has no flat screwdriver tape cutting feature, which was originally what switched me from the EAB to the prybrid- without a dull flat to use to rip through tape, I'd end up using my keys to avoid damaging contents

  Lock Security: 4/5 My only issue with the lock is that it is pretty easy to accidentally press the lock button during usage if you have your thumb anywhere but the top ridge. This is where your thumb is technically supposed to go, but occasionally I like to have mine on the side so I have run into this problem a few times.  Affordability: 5/5 At approximately ten dollars I find that this tool is a very appropriately priced item. It gives you a really solid tool that is easy to EDC for a very nice price

 This is not terribly uncomfortable it is just not always what I desire. Also the pocket clip does tend to dig a little bit if you angle it in your hand wrong.  Carrying ability: 5/5 The Slidewinder is a very small tool so it does not take up a significant amount of space or add weight. In addition, it also features a nice pocket clip which has allowed to to easily store in my coin pocket

Pretty solid with a different design

Slides poorly, needs assistance in/out despite the retract spring. Lock release is rough and inconsistent. …Will be relegated to live on the fridge after having a magnet added.

Neat idea for a lil knife, but it’s action is disappointing.

 Boom zips it right back into place. It's a lot of fun to use. It's cool that the name that the slide winder I think it's a great appropriate name. The lock is decent for EDC tasks and it's a fun little mechanism to play lists so it absolutely does its job and for $10 I'm very happy with it

 A lot more blade exposed so I can use it I have a liner lock there like a pocketknife. Now it's more sharp and abrupt then this guy would be. This one's a little bit more contoured. you can just see there with my large size gloves

 Works great though. for basic you know Philips head tasks and then we have here your bottle cap opener. Now if you use this a lot, you are going to chew up the plastic on the other side here just so you can see that right there. I did chew up the plastic a little bit, but you do have that metal lip on the other side to use as a bottle cap opener and then you even have a little jimping right there
