Leatherman OHT vs Leatherman Style PS

Definitely the most fun to play with leatherman, and is good for a fidget and showing off tool, but lacks in the daily use ability of carrying a multi tool. The tips don’t line up, making precise uses impossible, the whole tool will flex and bend if you try to grip something tight, and the design makes it easy to slip and get pinched between the handles, this tool has made me bleed on multiple occasions. The driver is so off center, and the handle is so thick it’s terrible at taking screws out, the knife has way too much play and I won’t even use it to open a box, and the saw cut pvc decently but doesn’t have the signature file on the edge for smoothing out ur saw job which is a big disappointment. The knife is razor sharp and I like the idea of the seat-belt cutter and oxygen wrench built in.

Leatherman does have an excellent history of revising and updating their tools for the better, so I hope they will address these design and construction concerns in the next iteration of the Style PS. It's a nifty idea, to have a small pair of pliers and other vital tools to travel with (since the TSA knife policy reversal seems kaput), that can also double as a complement to Swiss Army knives (I'd take the more functional pliers of an additional and functioning Style PS over the bulk of adding them to the toolset of a Swiss Army knife) in everyday carry. Ultimately, I'm so disappointed because it's a Leatherman product, and that reputation instills me with confidence that a better tool will emerge.

But overall the one handed opening pliers is just a gimmick if you don't really need it. If you could change bits out like the wave I might tolerate the other flaws more?

The only plier-based multitool I can recommend in that general size range is the Leatherman Style PS, but it represents some significant compromises too. There is no blade and the slotted driver will turn a Phillips but is not a Phillips driver.
