The fit and finish of the pliers on the PS4 is perfect, even on this used example. The screwdriver blades are thicker on the PS4 and are machined with crisper lines. The Dime's are slightly thinner and just don't seem like they'd hold up to much use without twisting the tips out of shape. I don't care for the chisel ground blade on the PS4, but I don't really like the slight curved belly on the cutting edge of the Dime either, so that is a tie

First impressions- this tool is really beautiful and unique. It feels nice in the hands, it’s nicely balanced when opening it one handed, and the detents are clean and crisp. They even make satisfying sounds when clicking in and out of position. I also really like the feature of side-mounted tools on the outside

Leatherman Charge+ TTI. $180 for a tool I never once carried because it's too damn big and the s30v blade had lockrock. Another was the Leatherman Free P4. Cost almost as much as the Charge TTI, but the toolset was gawdawful

This is why I always avoid the pliers in all small keychain sized multi-tools. I believe such small pliers are almost practically useless.

Pros Fit and finish is excellent. The pliers are well made and cut hard wire easily. Philips screwdriver works very well. The pry bar seems very sturdy and is a welcome addition

I think it’s just the diesel though. Like, this gerber you have looks solid. No plastic anywhere and all stainless steel just steer clear of those stupid Diesel ones they market to LEO. No self respecting police would depend on that hunk of shit for anything but a beer opener

The biggest plus for me is that, when on your keychain,the blade opens away from the end that is connected to the keychain. This makes it much easier to use than my previous Victorinox which I had to remove each time I used it.

In theory I can use the smaller pouch and toss the ratchet into a pocket along side my little flashlight and pen, but typically I find myself using the larger pouch I already owned. Technically I can squeeze the Free P2, the ratchet, my flashlight, and both flat bit cards into that pouch but then it’s a bit heavy and tough to get anything in and out of, so I tend to the stick with a single curated card of flat bits.

Might work ok if you’ve got a fingernail that’s snagging in something. The bottle opener doesn’t give you a lot of leverage, but if you’ve ever needed one and not had one, this beats breaking a tooth or the bottle trying to smash it off. The bottom line is, none of its tools are great - but due to its small size and light weight you can always have it in a pocket. No belt pouches required, no suspicious bulges in your pockets

How hypocritical of me. To me, the P2 and P4 are not worth the $120 and $140 respectively. $80 and $100 seems more In the proper range. I used a gift card, so the price didn't sting as bad as it should have, but they are overpriced in my opinion

Screw drivers were very difficult to open but should improve over time. Very compact and box opener is a great addition. Bought based on price - it was cheaper than the Leatherman but wish now I had bought the Leatherman.

I really felt the magnetic closure on the tool is great as it makes the tool stay together. Having a belt sheath is nice too.

If you want a quality tool that'll be with you through the years, look elsewhere. Personally, I've been using my second Dime to practice blade sharpening because ..

I use this for various tasks around the house and yard. I do not use it for heavy use on a job site. For my purposes I love having this on hand. Has all the tools I need in a convenient package

This is a light use item so read reviews with this in mind. judging any specific tool in the Dime by heavy use capability does not match with its intended use. if you expect to use it heavily you probably need to consider a "Leatherman" type tool. this is designed and built small enough to fit in your pocket or purse without being bulky or heavy
