Difficult to get food out

After reading some of the mixed reviews I purchased this pan well worth the £70. I have had it for over a month now the food does not stick to it at all makes perfect omelettes. I look after it has a manufacturer says wipe with a cloth and then spray with oil never been submerged in the water and the non-stick is still amazing in the future I'm thinking of getting a bigger one as well!

 This may even be true - all I’ve been doing is what I consider normal cookery, but if that’s too much for the pan, then it’s not the pan for me. We also have a relatively cheapo non-stick from who knows where (IKEA maybe - it’s too battered and crusty to read) which we’ve had for a lot longer and which we treat in much the same way, and that’s still non-stick. So, bottom line, if you buy The Le Creuset, enjoy it while you can, but don’t expect the romance to last forever.

I bought this pan in October 2013 and it was fine at first. But after two or three years the non-stick had become ineffective, it is very difficult to clean even after a long soaking, and there are now traces of food permanently welded to the surface which I can see no way of removing.  I was worried that they would be too heavy, but they are fine, although the deep pan 30cm one does need two hands to carry it full (there is a useful extra carry handle on this one) and tip out the contents. They are very easy to season, and to clean afterwards. I heed the advice to only use medium heat on my ceramic hob when using these pans, and have found that perfectly sufficient. On my last pans the handles were coated with non-stick as well, which deteriorated over time and went too sticky to use any more

I won't have that problem with the steel riveted handles on the Le Creuset pans, and they go from hob to oven or grill as well, which was the primary reason for choosing them - now I can souffle omelettes under the grill and finish off seared meat in the oven without having to transfer the food into different receptacles. I replaced my old 3-piece frying pan set with a set of Le Creuset pans in 20, 26, and 30 cm (deep). I was encouraged to do so by the glowing reviews, to which I can add my own.  If your dial goes to 9 (as our AEG does) never cook on more that 7 and back off from that once up to temperature. The warning sign is discolouration. If the surface shows the slightest sign of going brown you're running it too hot and the inevitable loss of performance will follow. Perfect as long as not used on max heat

  I'm disappointed. How much do you have to spend on a nonstick pan, that does the job it's supposed to do?

  I'm tired of spending £20-£50 yearly on mediocre 'non-stick' pans that really don't last, so after buying a beautiful and high quality pancake pan (for £85!) I had high hopes for this frying pan at £70.  My first experience was frying an egg in a modest amount of olive oil. The egg stuck and where it stuck, there is a small blemish that won't clean off. I was careful to keep the packaging and will be returning it

Looking for high-end dutch oven performance that's not quite as expensive? The Made In 5.5 Quart is an excellent choice. Like famous brands, Le Creuset and Staub, this pot is made and enameled in France rather than China. It's low and wide, providing a large searing surface area. The handles and lid knob are a fantastic size and shape that makes it easy to grab them even with bulky oven mitts. It's easy to handwash even the toughest messes from its smoothly enameled surface. The Made In is rated oven safe up to 580°F &mdash; the highest of any in our lineup. It was hardly phased at all by our maltreatment of it. This impressive oven is nearly as good at everything as the top performers we tested, but for far less cash, making it a great value item.
Our complaints about the Made In are few. It's comparatively heavy among models its size, though not so much that we notice it during use. It's not rated as dishwasher safe. That said, we caution anyone putting a dutch over in the dishwasher. Even models that are rated dishwasher safe, the detergent may damage the enamel. If you're looking for a smaller or larger version, you're out of luck with the Made In, as it currently comes in just the 5.5-quart size &#40;arguably the most versatile size for most people&#41;. There's so much it's great for, making its relatively lower cost &#40;for a high-end vessel&#41; that much more enticing.

 Where was quality control on my lid? My lid is speckled like an Easter Egg. The color variation leaves me less than impressed. I hope this was isolated to my Dutch Oven but I can’t help but think others likely have the same issue.  A Dutch oven is a kitchen staple in my house and often times it becomes the focal part of the table at a dinner party

 I can tell by the way this heats and retains heat that this is an excellent, high grade of cast iron. It heated evenly and retained a lot of heat at a very low setting on the stove. (Cheaper/inferior cast iron requires a higher amount of heat to stay hot and cook the food.)  The lid is great too

 The iron is mixed with various alloy metals (and in varying proportions) to achieve certain results. This means that "cheap" cast iron (ie: inferior, because the formula and/or the alloys may be less costly) simply doesn't perform as well as high-grade cast iron. I can tell by the way this heats and retains heat that this is an excellent, high grade of cast iron. It heated evenly and retained a lot of heat at a very low setting on the stove

Made in France, and even though I don't know what actual foundry that made this for Made-In, I can tell you that the quality is noticeable from the second you take it out of the box

Great quality Dutch oven, but very expensive!

 Ours weighed 5.11 pounds and fit just fine. Being that the material of construction is cast iron, it was expected that the internal temperature would be slower to rise than a thin roasting pan. After 1 hour 50 minutes and a few peeks under the lid, we had a perfectly done chicken (see photo) The temperature uniformity of cast iron is the reason why we love it

Supreme quality - excellent temperature uniformity

 It’s a solid shade of blue with no gradient. The quality of the navy blue enamel of the actual pot is excellent with no noticeable pitting, flecks, bubbles or visible imperfections. At first glance, it might appear to have little speckles but it doesn’t have any and mine just had flecks from the cardboard packaging that needed to be rinsed or washed off.  The blue enamel on the lid is generally smooth and well done
