Difficult to get food out

After reading some of the mixed reviews I purchased this pan well worth the £70. I have had it for over a month now the food does not stick to it at all makes perfect omelettes. I look after it has a manufacturer says wipe with a cloth and then spray with oil never been submerged in the water and the non-stick is still amazing in the future I'm thinking of getting a bigger one as well!

 This may even be true - all I’ve been doing is what I consider normal cookery, but if that’s too much for the pan, then it’s not the pan for me. We also have a relatively cheapo non-stick from who knows where (IKEA maybe - it’s too battered and crusty to read) which we’ve had for a lot longer and which we treat in much the same way, and that’s still non-stick. So, bottom line, if you buy The Le Creuset, enjoy it while you can, but don’t expect the romance to last forever.

I bought this pan in October 2013 and it was fine at first.  I was worried that they would be too heavy, but they are fine, although the deep pan 30cm one does need two hands to carry it full (there is a useful extra carry handle on this one) and tip out the contents. They are very easy to season, and to clean afterwards. I heed the advice to only use medium heat on my ceramic hob when using these pans, and have found that perfectly sufficient. I won't have that problem with the steel riveted handles on the Le Creuset pans, and they go from hob to oven or grill as well, which was the primary reason for choosing them - now I can souffle omelettes under the grill and finish off seared meat in the oven without having to transfer the food into different receptacles. I replaced my old 3-piece frying pan set with a set of Le Creuset pans in 20, 26, and 30 cm (deep). I was encouraged to do so by the glowing reviews, to which I can add my own.  If your dial goes to 9 (as our AEG does) never cook on more that 7 and back off from that once up to temperature. The warning sign is discolouration. If the surface shows the slightest sign of going brown you're running it too hot and the inevitable loss of performance will follow. Perfect as long as not used on max heat

  I'm disappointed. How much do you have to spend on a nonstick pan, that does the job it's supposed to do?

  I'm tired of spending £20-£50 yearly on mediocre 'non-stick' pans that really don't last, so after buying a beautiful and high quality pancake pan (for £85!) I had high hopes for this frying pan at £70.  My first experience was frying an egg in a modest amount of olive oil. The egg stuck and where it stuck, there is a small blemish that won't clean off. I was careful to keep the packaging and will be returning it

Also have a Lodge dutch oven for many years now and love it. No chipping of enamel coating, and works just fine. I use it several times a week and everything! And considering I paid almost ten times less than a Le Creuset for it, I think it's a no brainer.

So I'm in the market for a dutch oven and would like to get something really nice. A while back, when I was looking for stainless steel cookware, pretty much everyone would have me believe that All-Clad was the way to go; however, I had since discovered Demeyere cookware which I picked up and absolutely love. So that begs the question, from a pure performance standpoint, is Le Creuset really the undisputed king? It may seem petty, but the dutch oven is a big investment, and I really want to make sure I'm getting the best of the best.

Is Le Creuset really the best?

I did some research on cast iron skillets after not being satisfied with the three that I have tried.  I know I probably didn’t do something right with them,  but I was tired of everything sticking when I tried to use them.  

The other comment is correct--you can buy a lot more, better products for the price, I'm sure! If I wasn't being really particular about trying to match the size/shape of the nonstick pot we already owned, I probably wouldn't have bothered trying this brand. I am happy with the pot and it works for us, but depending on your needs you can certainly do better.

Caraway Cookware - Worth It?

This Lodge Dutch oven is such a great deal! I recently began baking sourdough bread and, after failure to rise in an All-Clad braiser, I decided to look for a cast iron Dutch over. Online there were many options from $75 and up. At $39.00 this was an excellent choice

One is a very-heavy, very-basic, regular-old Cast Iron with 3 "legs", a very heavy lid with both a handle and a metal hanger-type of thin metal that you could use to suspend it over a fire ... and it's pretty awesome

Tell me more about your Dutch Oven

 Mine came with a free charcoal basket and I've since added one for my Classic because I like it so much. I use the lid from a Lodge Double Dutch oven for a good cast iron pan that fits. I have the sear plate but the best feature of that for me is it fits close to the coals in my Classic. On the Jr it serves the same purpose but it's just a cast iron replacement for the stainless steel grate so the only reason to get it is a strong preference for CI
