In that sense, they're more in line with the $7 JVC Gumy Plus I also reviewed. That budget earphone also wasn't a clean sounding as the RP-HJE120s. Like other Panasonic ErgoFit headphones, this model offers a comfortable fit. Quality control isn't good with KZ apparently. I'm not too well versed in audiophile lingo, but I suppose I'm more of a neutral sound guy that wants to be able to listen to all kinds of music. I've recently found Etymotic er2se's, which are regarded as one of the best sub $100 IEMs amongst the community, for 50$ and will compare when I receive them. If they're not what they're cracked up to be, then this IEM audiophile stuff is definitely not for me and it may not be for you either if you're just an average person like me

The Panasonic RP-HJE120-K ErgoFit are very basic in-ear headphones with no additional features. They have a decent sound and barely leak, even at high volumes. However, they have a typical in-ear fit, which may be uncomfortable for some. They're not very stable and cannot block the ambient noise of a moderately busy office

Build quality, fit and finish: 4/10: Cheap feeling, empty looking, all plastic, weird uncomfortable shape (that somehow stays in better than my Arias? ), Bad 2 pin plug design, weird and kinda thick nozzle that makes adding and removing nozzles difficult. Stylized KZ logo is now a generic looking ES4 print on PCB on all newer models. Ugly glue job around DD inside.

But as far as I can tell, they are very similar and seem to work fine for now. In conclusion? Great durability on the first set and OK on the second. Customer service took some time and prodding to get back to me, but ultimately replaced the failed product which is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks Panasonic, I'll be coming back again in (hopefully) a few more years
