It's just like a high-end car, Kobo's flagship isn't meant for first-time users, but rather someone who's looking to upgrade their current e-reader

A "Premium" E-Book Reader?  Kobo's Aura ONE

 Overdrive is super convenient on WiFi - I'll typically pick out books on my phone for the better interface, then log in on the Kobo for a quick sync.  My main complaint is how slow an unresponsive it can be, especially if you've got a 1,000+ page book loaded. It can take half a second or longer to register a page turn. I also don't like the long boot up with a huge Wal Mart logo, but that's a tiny quality-of-life thing that doesn't matter much

 It has probably the best front-lit experience that Coppo has ever done as well as the new feature, which changes, uh, you know, the screen and eliminates blue light. So this e-reader could do it all as well as it's giant. So if you're reading manga, if you're reading PDF files, if you're reading eBooks, you have more screen real estate to be able to fit more text on a page.  It's worth mentioning that its 300ppi resolution is slightly sharper than Kobo's last-gen e-readers, which were 265ppi.

Battery life is great. After reading Sylvain Neuvel's new "Only Human" and volume 6 of the manga "Yotsuba," I still had more than half the battery to go.

Even if you don't borrow from libraries, this is a lovely device. The Clara HD is the e-reader boiled down to the essentials: a sharp screen in an easy-to-hold body with long battery life and a comforting, color-changing front light. As long as you don't have an existing library of Amazon books, this is a better buy than the Paperwhite.

 I plugged it into the charger for more than a day and it wouldn't charge! I found out that yes, the battery can be replaced but it needs more sophisticated electronics skills than I possess. I'm glad that I was able to use it for the time I had it, but I think it should have lasted more than two years! Or at least they should make the battery replaceable., or provide a replacement service. I would not buy one of these again

 But again, i do not want email or calendar - just ways of reading books and articles and highlighting.  By the way, after three weeks of use at one hour per night, the battery is only down to 48%. Maybe not quite as good as the Oasis, but not concerns at all. Not quite the build quality feel as the metal case of the Oasis, but then I use a case

A good e-reader, not so good tablet

 I found that it was unusable as a reader due to weight and the need for a remote for page turn buttons. I am not going to sit my "book" on a stand, I want to change positions and "curl up with a book".  Being a tablet the battery life holds up way better than I would have predicted even if it is eink. One can add a keybord or mouse via USB OTG or bluetooth though again lag on typing

 The Forma changes orentation when I turn it. When I purchased this I did not expect the weight to bother me but it does when holding for a long time vs other ereaders like the Forma which has the same screen size. One must also touch the screen to change pages which is clunky, many users buy a remote control to turn pages and put the Nova 3 on a stand or table rather than hold it. This is very inconvenient

I am comparing this as an ereader to a Koba Forma. The Forma has side page turn buttons and weighs much less despite the same screen size. The Forma changes orentation when I turn it. When I purchased this I did not expect the weight to bother me but it does when holding for a long time vs other ereaders like the Forma which has the same screen size

 I'm open to a device that is 8 inches or larger, and ideally has a nicer screen. Some options I was considering were the Galaxy Tab S7+ used (tough to find under $400), or going the e-ink route with an Onyx Boox Nova 3.

  So I set out to find a E-reader tablet that supported 3rd party apps like Scribd. That proved to be quite hard to find. Tons of e-reader tablets are out there but the key was finding “E-reader that supports E-ink AND 3rd party apps” After many hours searching and reading reviews I settled in the Boox Nova 3 (7.8 inch) and I am so pleased with my purchase

I wanted to buy an e-reader to read books on because I read a lot, sometimes hours at a time and the e-ink format is better for your eyes. I have an iPad but for extended reading times the backlighting and blue light is bad for eyes. My only problem was I didn’t want to be boxed into buying an Amazon kindle or B&N nook reader that only supported their brand books and subscriptions.  After reading reviews of all the most popular ebook subscription services I settled on “Scribd” app because it had unlimited access for a cheap monthly subscription price to the most books, audiobooks and magazines from all the BIG NAME publishers which means you get lots of new releases
