 The flipper has nicely done jimping for fingertip traction. All edges are radiused and finished. The handle shape is fantastic for a secure hold and the aluminum scales are roughed up slightly for a good grip. The overall size is what is for me the max comfortable pocket carry size

Bigger knives like the BM Barrage take up most of the jeans pocket. This Link is slim enough and just shorter enough to leave pocket room for keys and coins and a hand

  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel. I don’t generally like liner locks since you must put your finger in the blade path of travel to unlock it. Use focused attention always when closing one

  The blades of the two knives are very similar: same length, same thickness with a tapered back and point though the Link has a sharper point and slightly more belly, same length of handle and overall, both have quality scales over sturdy stainless liners, same handle thickness. But the Volli costs more than 4x the Kershaw Link.  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel

 A qtr turn on the locking nut fixed that without loosening the blade...now it works perfectly

5", not 3.25" as was mentioned in one of the 3 blade descriptions on the Amazon site. Really good value. Started off as a 4-star blade out of the box

Very sharp with premium/super premium steel

I really like my Link and carry it most days. I used to carry my Cryo_2, but I like this better (good steel, feels good). The blade is large enough and 'beefy' enough to take everyday use. The only thing I wish was designed different is that it has a frame lock, that requires one to push it to the side (and thus putting a finger in the path of the blade) when folding

Great everyday knife. Looks good and is practical for tough jobs.

 That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play. Additionally, some people have concerns about flippers deploying in their pockets and cutting their leg. Obviously caution should always be taken when you're walking a round with a sharp knife, it's not your phone and keys, it's a potential weapon

 That said, the flipping mechanism, though fast and fluid in its movements when you hit the switch, is heavy enough where I imagine it would take unusual pressure to have it deploy by accident. If you want a fast, satisfying, sharp flip knife, Kershaw makes some of my favorites.

 While I did not observe any design flaws with the lock or flipper mechanism, I imagine some factory flaws might exist. When I first go the Headgrille I was surprised to find the tip a little blunt. That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play

This blade, the Link, and the other Kershaw knife I own, the Headgrille, a sadly discontinued spring assisted flipper, are really solid designs and work well when you need a blade deployed fast with one hand. The Link is smaller and lighter than the Headgrille, and that would perhaps be my only complaint here. I preferred the heavy metal body of the Headgrille, which could be used as a glass breaker in an emergency, over the Link which feels about as light as a Swiss Army Knife in your pocket. Additionally, the light weight of the Link does not equal soft, flimsy quality, as I've found with some knifes from Spyderco for instance. This knife could probably take a beating

We actually have a good one This is coming from Bob Margolis who I actually met a few weeks ago his two different Amtac Northman blades here He has the live blade and then of course a trainer This one's pretty interesting because they are self-defense style blades and I actually trained with these exact blades right here with Bill Rapier I don't have a whole lot of knife training under my belt However, these are blades that I have used specifically in self-defense scenarios training Of course, and you're going to end up training differently with whatever blades you have Also on the lines of self-defense We have this right here the CRKT provoke and this is a killer shot from my friend Peter McKinnon now Believe it or not karambit style blades like that like the provoke which I happen to have right here The original design for these was not actually self-defense They were actually designed as an agricultural tool to sort of like scrape at roots and cut things like low in the dirt They have obviously since been adapted to be a very good self-defense blade This is one that I've never trained with however, it's still along the lines of self-defense and that definitely relates to the blade We're taking a look at today. So this one has been in my collection for quite a while now I would say probably like six or seven years and of course, we are taking a look at the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 The Yojimbo 2 was designed by personal defense trainer Michael Janich I actually had the pleasure of meeting him not too long ago in person

 Although we didn't get to talk a whole lot It was really cool meeting someone whose knife design I love so much He designed this thing with some refined ergonomics to really complement the contour of the human hand now Like I mentioned the overall design of a self-defense knife like this is really going to dictate how it's going to be put into an Application some blades will have a little bit more crossover than others like the Yojimbo 2 compared to the Northman that we took a look At in the beginning, but others like the Yojimbo versus the CRKT provoke You're looking at a completely different knife there drastically different design means There's probably going to be a pretty drastic difference in how you use it As far as the specs go the Yojimbo 2 has g10 handles Which are very grippy and the wharncliffe style blade is made out of a CPM s 30 V The blade length is coming in at just over three inches a handle length of four and a half inches giving an overall length of Seven and a half inches the pocket clip is very standard for a Spyderco knife giving you either tip up or tip down Both left and right handed configurations Of course It does have a relatively large size spidey hole there to flick this thing open and then you can see it lock into place on The rear here with that compression lock Alright guys, here we go.   Handle also seems slightly small for my hand in the primary grip...middle of fingers often on points and handle horns can jab base of thumb, on top of hindering Spydie-Drops (partially concealed hole doesn't help here either)

Pros; This is the sharpest knife out of my 20 plus knife collection. Lock up is perfect, fit and finish perfect. Blade is perfectly centered. Beautiful blade, and looks awesome
