 The flipper has nicely done jimping for fingertip traction. All edges are radiused and finished. The handle shape is fantastic for a secure hold and the aluminum scales are roughed up slightly for a good grip. The overall size is what is for me the max comfortable pocket carry size

Bigger knives like the BM Barrage take up most of the jeans pocket. This Link is slim enough and just shorter enough to leave pocket room for keys and coins and a hand

  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel. I don’t generally like liner locks since you must put your finger in the blade path of travel to unlock it. Use focused attention always when closing one

  The blades of the two knives are very similar: same length, same thickness with a tapered back and point though the Link has a sharper point and slightly more belly, same length of handle and overall, both have quality scales over sturdy stainless liners, same handle thickness. But the Volli costs more than 4x the Kershaw Link.  The 420HC steel of the Link is plenty good enough for most purposes. It requires sharpening more often than the S30V but it is a well proven blade stainless steel

 A qtr turn on the locking nut fixed that without loosening the blade...now it works perfectly

Very sharp with premium/super premium steel

I really like my Link and carry it most days. I used to carry my Cryo_2, but I like this better (good steel, feels good). The blade is large enough and 'beefy' enough to take everyday use. The only thing I wish was designed different is that it has a frame lock, that requires one to push it to the side (and thus putting a finger in the path of the blade) when folding

Great everyday knife. Looks good and is practical for tough jobs.

 That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play. Additionally, some people have concerns about flippers deploying in their pockets and cutting their leg. Obviously caution should always be taken when you're walking a round with a sharp knife, it's not your phone and keys, it's a potential weapon

 That said, the flipping mechanism, though fast and fluid in its movements when you hit the switch, is heavy enough where I imagine it would take unusual pressure to have it deploy by accident. If you want a fast, satisfying, sharp flip knife, Kershaw makes some of my favorites.

 While I did not observe any design flaws with the lock or flipper mechanism, I imagine some factory flaws might exist. When I first go the Headgrille I was surprised to find the tip a little blunt. That was easy enough to sharpen to a point however. With the Link, I found that after I deployed the blade, the lock was very strong, with no blade play

This blade, the Link, and the other Kershaw knife I own, the Headgrille, a sadly discontinued spring assisted flipper, are really solid designs and work well when you need a blade deployed fast with one hand. The Link is smaller and lighter than the Headgrille, and that would perhaps be my only complaint here. I preferred the heavy metal body of the Headgrille, which could be used as a glass breaker in an emergency, over the Link which feels about as light as a Swiss Army Knife in your pocket. The second reason is when you use the safety to lock it closed it still opens about a forth of an inch from the hilt, enough to expose the point and blade. after six months i have not had any problems with the blade opening on its own however it was a concern when I first received the knife. I don't like S30V as I find it chips easily cutting at high tension regardless of how long it stays sharp.If this knife was in the fifties range I would give it 4-stars because it is reliable,has a sturdy lock,American-made(rare for Gerber these days),has a pretty decent grip in your hand.Yet there's things to point out even more so about this knife because of it's price tag because there's no justification for it.

Gerber Propel AO Knife Review

 All of that so just a little bit better slicing like cardboard and EDC stuff with the Amerson. But if you were to ask me: okay, hey we're gon na go for a day at the range or you know we're gon na go on a hiking trip, or you know we're just gon na be doing a lot of heavier. You know outdoor hard stuff, not around town EDC. You know just more more tactical

 I love seeing that on these plates and that a good price point as well. I love to see that now this is gon na come with a fantastic relief edge. Hopefully you guys can see that there I mean with that saber grind. This thing is fantastic, really high relief edge, which means that this is a slicer

 It'S just a little bit heavier than say some ultralight autos that are out there, but that g10 is very aggressive. You can see there with all the different cut ins. You got that stainless steel backer right there with that glass, breaker lanyard hole. So that's gon na give you really hit like strong, strong

 It wears really well that oxide coating is really nice to see, and you know, with their lifetime warranty Gerber offers a lifetime warranty. I have used it in the past with other products so way back in the day when I first you know started this channel, I broke an LM F to doing something approached it enough, but BAM they replaced it within two weeks. There'S a new one at my door with an actually upgraded sheath kit. You know - and I've used it once or twice before with other things, and they are really quick and really good at taking care of their customers

 So gosh I mean given the rule that this is intended for that of military, potentially police. I actually think this is like a really good knife guys. I think it's great for what it is price. What does it come in? I think that MSRP is 220 ish and we're gon na find this

 I don't know we could potentially hit it for the weight, which is four point, seven ounces, but that's really not bad at all. Considering what you get here, four point: seven, that's under five and that's I don't know I think, that's actually pretty dang good. It'S not much of a hit at all right there. I don't know you could say that it's just not a super sexy knife and I would agree with you there

It'S not super deep, but honestly, I think it's totally fine and I've said it pointed out or didn't mention it, but that's a big lanyard hold there too [ Music ], so dressing deployment, pretty good, pretty good for an auto I've seen faster, but it's pretty good

The Gerber Downrange Propel Auto is my new EDC.  I've been carrying and using it for the better part of 2 months now, and while I don't usually like knives with serration, this one has been a great blade.  You certainly need to check your local and state regulations on if you can have an auto-knife, but I have really enjoyed this one.  Solidly-made, cool color, nice point for getting into things before I cut.
