**Kensington Orbit Fusion -** This was the one I was thinking would suit me the best from the beginning of my investigation into trackballs. There is not much info about it due to it being so new, and with tons of mixed reviews about scratchy scroll rings, etc I was thinking I would end up returning it. Honestly, I love it. Comfortable, felt ZERO switchover forearm pain using this thing compared to the others

  There are lots of buttons on this mouse, which is nice for someone who wants to customize. You can even customize on a per app basis. It is a decent weight, but I would not have minded just a few ounces more. It does a decent job sticking to the desktop and not moving as well, something I couldn't say about the Logi MX Ergo

 However, I like the thumb operated for faster movements and I prefer it for directional movement in gaming. I'm weird like that.  The scroll function was another selling point on the Kensington. They've been producing the scroll ring for a long time and I've never tried it until now

 The buttons have a great feel to them. Very tactile and well placed. Ball movement is smooth, maybe a little small for double fingers, but I have large hands. Works well using just the tips of my fingers however

the only complain I have is a big one so I knocked off 2 stars. the right mouse button is way too difficult to click. my finger has to be way too far forward to be able to click it. I'm not returning it but I am looking for something more comfortable to use and I won't recommend this one to my friends

 I've never used an expert so I can't speak to that comparison, but it's awful compared to the orbit scroll ring. It also blocks a good chunk of the trackball which makes your accessible surface area fairly limited. Coming from a trackman marble this thing is brutally bad at tracking. Spinning the ball with the same force as I regularly use my marble makes it completely lose control

Just lay your hand on your mouse once, and you&rsquo;re all set for eight hours straight without needing to move it again (aside from getting up to go to the bathroom). Of course, your thumb will be getting a workout the whole time.

That&rsquo;s because this mouse uses a trackball to move the cursor. It&rsquo;s not a new approach, but at $50 and with 2.4GHz and Bluetooth support, the Ergo M575 is more advanced than what you would have gotten in the &lsquo;90s.
Using it will take some practice, of course, but it feels like a dream in your hand. It completely eliminates strain from repetitive motions, and the wide body perfectly contorts to my hand shape. Again, it does require my thumb to do a lot of movement, but if there&rsquo;s anything decades of gaming has taught me, it&rsquo;s that my thumbs are pretty resilient when it comes to carpal tunnel syndrome. The rest of my hand, not so much.
Of course, speaking of gaming, not being able to move the mouse&rsquo;s body itself does come with some struggles. For instance, while this isn&rsquo;t our best gaming mouse list, let&rsquo;s not kid ourselves. You&rsquo;re probably not constantly swapping between a gaming and work mouse with your home setup. If you were hoping to use this mouse to moonlight in games, think again. While its trackball can reach a DPI of up to 2000, it&rsquo;s harder to do controlled flicks or steady tracking with it. Not common use cases on the job, but very common in games.
Clicking-and-dragging also takes some rewiring at first, as I&rsquo;m not used to using both my thumb and my index finger when doing so. It took a bit of thought to remember to let go of my index finger when I was done dragging, but not my thumb. Similarly, it can be hard to precisely highlight text with a trackball.
Most of these issues, aside from the mouse not being well-suited to games, are easy enough to fix with practice. And once you do, your wrists will thank you. Your desk might thank you too. While the M575 is a bulky mouse, it also paradoxically has a small footprint because you don&rsquo;t need to move it when using it. It doesn&rsquo;t even need a mousepad, making it great for people with small desks or keyboard trays.
Like the Logitech M510, the M575 is compatible with the Logitech Options software, which lets you remap its three extra buttons, check battery level, swap the left/right click and adjust DPI. The customization on offer here is fairly robust, and allows you to set a button to open programs, control media, enter certain key combinations and the like. Plus, you can set the mouse to use different settings depending on which program you have open.
If you like trackball mice, this is one of the best modern options available.

The Best Trackball Mouse - Spring 2022

 This did slight help with wrist pain. I felt that the discomfort just shifted to different area. The mouse is a bit bulky and the ergonomic design is not for everyone. May be it is good of you have large hands

 The learning curve for using this sort of mouse is pretty minimal, especially if you've played games on console and use a joystick to move the in game cursor.  I have a couple of personal issues with this mouse. The ergonomics for me are not that optimal as: my hands are big and I prefer a more vertical tilt. The mouse would feel great for me if the tilt was slightly more aggressive and my hand (which is slightly above average) hangs off the side of the mouse

Additionally, I use multiple devices and picking up the mouse and switching devices is not nearly as convenient (a side quick switch button would've been nice), I'm aware that the mx ergo exists and has this quick switch feature, but it doesn't come in white.

First track ball mouse and I love it

 They have like the vertical mice where it moves around on your desk and it doesn't have a trackball. And then they also have these type of mice where they don't move around on your desk and your thumb pretty much does all the work with the trackball. And with that being said let's kick things off by checking out what was included in the box. So the mouse does come in a cardboard box and it has the Logitech brand colors all over it

 So now let's get into the design as well as the build quality of the mouse. So overall this mouse is constructed fairly well with its fully plastic build and this doesn't feel like cheap plastic. This feels like it's fairly durable plastic. It definitely can take a beating if you accidentally drop it or if you're traveling with it

Replacement for an older version of this trackball.  The buttons wore out on the old one after a few years, but both the old and new ones worked well.  4 stars because the old one wore out, otherwise 5 stars.
