 The true stereo in and out are great and the ping-pong mode (enabled only when using both outputs) is just a delight.

And since I was so close to having everything I wanted I went ahead and ordered a Keeley Eccos so I could finish the board. Plumes: this is a great tube screamer-ish pedal. I've always had some kind of TS pedal on my board (my first pedal ever was a digitech bad monkey) and I love to use it as a tone shaper/boost to push myself out into the mix for solos.

 I really dug the Ecos delay and looper this is a fun creative powerhouse tool really really great and Keeley makes all kinds of terrific pedals they've been at it so long. One of the original boutique pedal manufacturers they just do it right.  Now one neat thing about the pedal is that you hold down the tap button and it's going to kick the feedback up to kind of like infinite feedback and start oscillating really quickly. If you do that with a really really short delay time the pedal kind of screams at you and that's what you heard me do at the beginning of the track as well as at the end of the track so let's check that out. So it works really really well as a mod pedal as a flanger and with the added benefit of being able to get those crazy kind of screaming sounds that's pretty cool in a flanger I think and kind of unique. So using the unit for sort of more typical echo style effects and tape delay echo style sounds you've got the tap button there with different subdivisions actually so you can get quarter notes you can get dotted eighths, you can get eighth notes all kinds of subdivisions

 Crank up the feedback and you can get that delay to oscillate and depending on how you got that control set for darker or brighter delay tones you can get some wildly different sounds. Now if you set the delay time super short and set the feedback really low you can also use this pedal just as a flanger which I did actually for the first part in the song at the beginning of the video and for the last part as well and on that last part I actually really got almost like a seasick style flange going and I really liked actually just the mod tone not even using it as an echo but using it as a flanger. This was the first time I've been able to audition so many pedals, and I was pretty surprised at how different the "tape delay" types were. I think I tried out 5-6 of them, and ended up with the Strymon El Capistan. It had the right feel for the ramp up when you have infinite repeats and then adjust the speed, where others were either too slow on the uptake, or just felt a little.

 So my final thoughts about this pedal is that it's very versatile, it offers great set of configuration that you can tweak very easily and it's very sturdy, not really too compact, not too big and it's amazing, it really produces clear sounds and great delay settings and also the reverb setting that it's a plus on the delay pedal, right? Strymon El Capistan - Tape Delay Guitar Pedal  | Review & Demo Sounds

I had a Carbon Copy Deluxe for 9 months but found it uninspiring so I did some research online via YT videos and buyer reviews so I decided to try the El Cap. I purchased through Amazon because I had some gift certificates so..

.. Not only did the pedal arrive earlier than expected, (it shipped directly from Vintage King) but it sounds so good that I have not stopped using it since it arrived.  I'm practicing guitar more because this pedal makes the process more enjoyable and yes, it makes my playing sound better

 The El Cap will be used extensively on many of my tracks in the years to come.  I also own a Strymon Flint which I cannot say enough about. Strymon pedals are more $$$ but consider that most of their pedals have 2 effects, more features, and sound incredible. Seriously, the Flint Reverb/Tremolo combo are top notch and I have used that pedal on many other tracks besides guitars so my point is, these Strymon pedals are incredible on guitar rigs but also work excellent for studio use
