 Once I got it on court, it was just like everything from the very first generation. Really stable, really comfortable. The traction was great. I felt like I could slide in and out of my shots just a little bit, so not too sticky

 When I was sprinting around the court, traction was really good, had enough grip to make a quick first step and to come to a controlled stop, and yet if I wanted to slide out of a shot slightly, I could do that just by unweighting my outside foot, and I got a nice controlled slide out of the shoe. I thought durability was really good as well. The shoe flexed well on my toes, so when I was pushing off, the shoe felt comfortable, light and fast on my feet, and it actually feels a lot lighter than the specs would indicate. So a fun playtest for me, and I think if you've got a medium to a wider fit in the forefoot, you're going to really enjoy this one

 Now let's check in with him to hear his thoughts on the Hypercord Express 2. I thought the very first generation of the Hypercord Express was really comfortable and plush underfoot and I felt the same with this generation as well. It was really comfortable and this one, like the first version, felt a little bit more generous in the forefoot and has a little bit lower arch, which was great for me. I think the biggest improvement I noticed was the support

 Overall, my foot is a little on the narrow side, maybe not quite as narrow as Chris's, but this shoe is definitely wider, like the first iteration of the Hypercourt Express, especially through the forefoot. So I had to cinch the shoe up pretty snugly to get a good proper fit, but just the overall width of the shoe and the construction of it lends itself to be a very stable ride in any direction on the court. The outsole seems to be about the same tread pattern and compound as the Hypercourt Supreme, also the previous Hypercourt Express and the Ultra Shot. So this has worked great for me on pretty much any hard court that I've played on

Absolutely.  Beautiful construction and design.

 Now, when I wrapped up my head, I didn't find the need to take off the shoes to go to the gym or do anything else. They were nice and comfortable. And when it came to support and stability, now the support, I did feel a little bit of movement in the shoe because of that extra space, but it didn't limited my movements. I was able to move around aggressively without issues

 And then even the traction was exactly what I was looking for. I love a stickier traction, and I know these guys like something a little bit slicker. But for me, I felt really confident with that sticky traction as I knew exactly where my feet were going to be under me the whole time. Yeah, you guys mentioned a little bit of support issue, but I filled out the shoes really well

 We just wrapped up our playtest of the K-Swiss HyperCore Express 2, and I'm going to kick things off with the widest foot on the playtest team. Now K-Swiss shoes have always fit my feet very well, and with this Express 2, that's no different. I've experienced step-in comfort, and I was really impressed with the underfoot cushioning, and I was enjoying the updated look and the updated kind of streamlined feel from this shoe. And Michelle, how did it work for your medium feet? Yeah, so my foot isn't as wide as yours, Tiffany, but I was easily able to combat that by cinching up those laces

 The only slight issue I had was I did find the fit to be a little wide, not too long but just a little wide so stability was a little bit compromised here and there but overall I really enjoyed the traction, the durability was just as on par as with the Ultra Express and the plush cushioning kept me really comfortable on the court. Overall it wasn't too heavy so I really enjoyed that I didn't feel weighed down on the court or when I was working on explosive movement. The only issues I had was that slight issue with durability and I did not love the cosmetic, I really wish K-Swiss went with those really bright fun colors that they did with Ultra Express. But overall a super comfortable shoe

If you need a great wet traction I recommend any shoe with Vibram Megagrip outsole. Also, La Sportiva shoes tend to have excellent wet traction.

So I love my Nike Wild Horse 7’s for several reasons (cushion, fit, drop)….but I hate how instantly slippery they get when it’s wet. Their grip sucks. As fall and rainy weather is coming, I’m looking for recommendations for a trail shoe that is similar (higher drop,~8mm; relatively cushioned; fit) but also doesn’t react to wet rocks and wood like I just poured oil on the outsoles. Appreciate any recommendations from folks who’ve run in the WH especially. TIA!

A trail that’s like Wild Horse 7, but doesn’t slip when it’s wet?

Also you're going to want to specifically define what you mean by lightweight because while the Lone Peak 5 is lighter than hiking shoes and boots, it is heavier compared to other trail shoes in the medium stack category and weighs about as much as some high/max shoes. If you're thinking Lone Peak 5, I'd suggest the Topo Terraventure 3 because the latter has a Vibram Megagrip outsole that outperforms Altra's MaxTrac while generally being comparable to the LP5.

-ASICS gel venture 7
-Saucony excursion Tr11

Also, to make sure that we had some good rigidity throughout the shoe without making it super bulky, we added in our flex plate technology which acts like a little bit of a tuned suspension. But what really sets this shoe apart is the fact that it's actually built on a trail running last, so it has a nice sneaker like fit to it. On top of that, we went ahead and add it in dual evie a foam to the heel and forefoot to really make sure that you have some good comfort when you're out on the trails
