 Unlock the power limit bolt on a decent cooler, and don't forget to enable Xmp for memory overclocking here as well. So let's take a look at how this thing actually performs. and for 175 bucks, the performance seriously cannot be beaten. Kicking things off with production workloads first in Cinebench, we're looking at about equal performance to a 10 600k overclocked to 5 gigahertz, which is really impressive given the price and power differences

 on an open test bench, that means around 3 600 megahertz, but for a closed case, expect that value to be quite a bit lower. So if you're looking at getting the I5 11400f, don't expect the stock cooler to get you very far. If you want to get the most performance that you can out of it, even a single tower air cooler will allow you to run the full power and boost clocks that are on offer here. I will also mention that B560 motherboards do appear to have the same power limit unlocking capabilities that you'd expect on Z590, which honestly is really great to see that makes a B560 motherboard the perfect pair for this cpu in my opinion

 Or of course, you could just save that extra 100 and have a build that is about equally as fast anyway, and you have that extra hundred dollars to do whatever you want with. Personally, I'm a big fan of this cpu for gaming builds, I just think it makes so much sense in terms of where it allows you to allocate the extra budget for your gaming Pc. I really think that 11400f with a B560 motherboard, fast memory, decent cooler, and then the fastest Gpu that you can afford in your budget is pretty much the way to go for a gaming Pc build right now. Honestly, I think that covers pretty much everything

 Despite the I5 11400f only having a 65w Tdp, which in Intel's language also means that the processor consumes about 65 watts at load, the I5 11400 F can consume significantly more than that if you let it. And in my opinion, this is The way that you should run the 11400 because more power equals more performance. and the difference between restricting it to 65 watts and then uncapping it is pretty significant, especially when you take a look at the clock speeds. At just 65 watts, we're looking at a sustained all-core clock speed as low as 2600 megahertz in blender, but uncapped sitting around 140 watts

Gear 1 can Lead to Performance Loss on Intel "Rocket Lake" 11th Gen Processors

 Guys, Now, I know a lot of you are going to be running upgraded cooling solutions, but when it comes to a more affordable processor, a lot of people are going to expect to be running the stock Intel cooler and the last thing they want or even somebody like me who's running a higher end system but doesn't have the space for a larger air cooler or an aio wants is for your motherboard itself to be fighting against what you want to do. And that's also what's causing a lot of the variants that we're seeing across the Internet right now of results for the Eleven Four hundred. So what I really wanted to get into now is those benchmarks: real world gaming and maybe a little bit of memory overclocking? So in the benchmarks, I'm going to show both with and without the auto setting or what's basically called Mce on the Asus board enabled. But you can take this for basically any of the motherboards out there right now

 And not only that guys, it seems to be really, really hard to find. It's like Amd realized that they made too good of a chip, and they haven't really been rolling these out in huge quantities. Now, another thing that Intel added this time for their lower end chips and motherboards is the ability to overclock memory, but still, no unlocked multipliers across their entire lineup. On the other hand, that ability to overclock the memory will give you a little bit more performance like we're going to see a little bit later in this video

 Now, while this might sound like free performance, it's actually not. There's a price that you have to pay and that comes with power, heat, and voltage. and that's sort of where I got a little bit messed up. and that's where I came into my rookie mistake

 So when it comes to input power, Asus obviously has Mce enabled by default in its auto mode since the 11400 really does stick to that 120 watts right across the board. Without it, the chip behaves exactly like Intel specs say it should. Anyways, you can actually see why the motherboard companies do this. I mean, you wouldn't want your prize board looking bad in reviews now, would you? but at the same time, it can also cause some pretty major problems

Intel Core i5-11400 Review - NOT as Good as you Think!

 As you can see from the graphs, though, price versus performance for this I5 11400f, it really is excellent. We never found the time to comprehensively review the Ryzen 5000 line, or indeed The K-chip Rocket Lake processors in our videos, at least. And to be honest, for gaming, I think the 11400f is quite a bit more interesting simply because the bottom line is that nothing seems to touch this more cost-orientated Intel chip in terms of price versus performance. But I do think it's fair to point out that there are scenarios where Ryzen is unbeatable

 Intel still has issues, but if your focus is on gaming, and if you're looking for a price to performance bargain, it's really, really difficult to ignore the core I5 11400f. It's a six core 12 thread part, costs around 150 pounds or 175 dollars. And guess what? it's actually available. You can buy it, and it's available at Msrp no less

 And yes, for the majority of this review, we've benched with the 255 watt limit active and with gear One memory and full Xmp 3600 megahertz. But look, there's a strong argument here that you don't need to, and that for gaming, at least even the laughably flimsy stock cooler may do just fine. You can look at Will Judd's excellent Digital Foundry at Euro Gamer review for encoding and synthetic benchmarks, but the bottom line is that investing in top end cooling and going for broke on power only gives you about 10 to 20 percent of extra performance. Meanwhile, the gains to gaming at 255 watt max virtually non-existent

 Csgo offers simply monstrous Amd performance where even the fastest 11th gen Intel chip is flashed by Ryzen 5000. I talked about percentage differentials not meaning much at high frame rates, but it's clear that Cs Go simply runs a ton better on Ryzen, plus 40 percent more performance is not to be sniffed out, right? Whether we're talking about Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 9, Hitman 3 also shows that Amd can certainly perform, but now I want to shift gears for a moment. You see pairing a Cpu with a 2080 Ti and running at 1080p. Resolution does show differences in performance, but I wouldn't call it representative of the kind of balance we typically see hardware wise in a gaming Pc

One of the questions that he asked was "if you had an unlimited credit card and wanted to build an amazing PC, what would you buy?" And I admitted I was lost for an answer. I basically said "well I know I need a good.monitor and graphics card. Also a lot of memory and a solid gpu." But that was it. 

I am not a tech whiz by any means, and I told this to the interviewer. I mean I can install programs and use the internet, but that's kinda it. I was upfront and said "I am not gifted at tech yet, but I'm honest and work hard and can learn anything." 

This left a good impression on him and after chatting a while he hired me on the spot!

So basically I am hoping there is maybe a YouTube channel or something that can give me the basics through intermediate lessons on how all kinds of tech works and EX0LAIN THE JARGON!

The 3600 and 3600x are overpriced in this market. In the US, they are $200 and $250 USD, but they perform identically to the $149 Intel i5 10400f.

If your budget allows, pair either the i5 or the Ryzen 5 with a $30-40 aftermarket cooler like the Hyper H212 Evo (*Black* has a nicer, quieter fan - and if you're going Ryzen, get the Black as it supports the AM4, guaranteed).
