I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

 You want something more supportive, take a look at the Big Fig. Also a better option I think for heavier stomach sleepers. Being a firmer mattress, you should feel better support under your hips. You're not going to go in there or get out of alignments

We’re looking for something with better edge support, ideally something that is a bit softer (but not extremely), and we are hoping to stay under $2,000 for a King Size hybrid mattress (ideally less than $1500).

This worked for a bit, but the sagging was still a problem. Finally, we ordered a Titan Luxe mattress. It is very firm, but better with the added latex topper I mentioned previously, but the edge support is horrible and we are constantly bumping into each other, because otherwise we feel like we are falling off the bed. Don't bother with T&N Mint, it'd probably be too soft for you and won't last you long enough, nor provide enough support. Instead of signature or aurora you'd probably be better of with Titan/Titan Luxe.

Hello! Need some more experienced advice. I'm not able to visit stores and experiment for pandemic reasons, I'm high risk so isolating as much as possible. 

I'm moving and need to buy something new. The ex is keeping a "beautyrest recharge signature select" which is pretty hard, I often wake up with sore shoulders, hips, or both.

I'm about 260#, 6' tall, generally a side sleeper. I tend to sleep on the warm side, so I've been avoiding memory foam in general - is this still a thing that's an issue? I've been seeing that a hybrid is probably best for my weight and side sleeping. 

My budget is the problem here. Ideally I'd be doing this for under 800; I can make maybe 12-1300 work but I'm moving so money is tight, I'd rather not do credit if I can avoid it. Does anyone have experience with the financing things that seem to pop up on all the direct mattress sale sites? 

I've been looking at reviews, this subreddit, sleeplikethedead, and everywhere else I can look and frankly I'm overwhelmed. I've got a notion that these might work: helix, t&amp;n mint, Brooklyn bedding aurora (unclear if this is much better than a signature) and stumptown (made local, but few reviews outside of their site).

Anyone have any ideas/advice/directions to look or avoid? Would appreciate anything. Thank you.

Lost in research, looking for advice

I would rule out the Casper, Purple, Nectar and Helix on durability issues. They're fine for folks under 200lbs - 225lbs or so -- but they don't use premium materials and thus will have a shorter lifespan with daily usage by someone over that. Given that you're not a side sleeper, I would say if you're going for the Titan you should go for the Titan original (Titan Firm) rather than the Titan Luxe. Back and stomach sleepers both need fairly firm mattresses (back sleepers less so, but stomach sleepers especially)

I have scoured the internet trying to find the "best" mattress, which I now know is an impossible feat. I'm moving in about a week, and really just want to find a good mattress. For reference, I am 18, female, 5' 7", and about 250 lb, I primary fall asleep on either my stomach or back and mostly wake up on my back, I sleep pretty neutral as long as I have a fan, but will occasionally run hot (plan to mitigate this with a cooling pad if it becomes an issue), and as of right now I sleep on an air mattress, previously slept on a waterbed, but both cause me to have pretty bad back pain.

 At first I was going to get one of the cheaper Zinus mattresses, but after reading the horror stories, I decided a fiberglass hellstorm was not the vibe I wanted to set in my brand new house, so I started looking at the Casper Element. I decided that I would rather do the original Casper, so now I am deciding between the Original Casper, Titan Luxe, Purple (maybe? Is purple any good?), Nectar, or maybe one of the Helix mattresses. I would prefer to spend as close to $1000 or less as possible, but offer whatever suggestions you may have. Thanks!!

Please help me decide on a mattress

 Now, I've tried out a number of mattresses that are built for sleepers who are plus sized. And generally, I find that the mattresses are too firm for my body type and weight. However, the Brooklyn Titan Luxe was not like that at all. I find myself very comfortable on this mattress
