I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

 This was not a cheap build. We are 5'6" 150 lb's and 5'4" 130 lbs. I will continue to update this as weeks pass or more updates are requested:

I recently purchased and received a Tempurpedic PRObreeze Medium (all foam) mattress and ergo adjustable base. Due to the complete lack of first hand reviews and experiences I decided to leave my initial notes and impressions here in hopes that others may find it useful. There appears to be nothing but paid promotions and reviews by mattress retailers on this particular bed. The configuration is split king (two twin XL's) with ergo extend base (two twin XL's)

 Even afterwards it was not setup correctly with the sleep tracker. We had to get on the phone with tempurpedic to get the sleeptracker properly set up. Phone support was very helpful and responsive.

 Surprisingly it was not. It feels like I remember it at the store - soft yet supportive. The mattress is far from a hard slab of foam that needs to be broken in. This gave me concerns that maybe I was swindled and received a used model

 We'll be right in the middle. Great for any kind of sleeping position or body type starting right at the top. Here, This mattress features the same type of cover in the other Tempur-pedic Adapt and Prodad models, That being the Smart Climate Dual Cover System, The Smart Climate Dual Cover System is a cover system that is composed up of two parts. The top panel is actually made from a ultra high density yarn that is woven very tightly together

 One other thing that I should mention about all of the foams in the Tempur-pedic Pro Breeze Medium hybrid here is that they are all a very durable foam. So like I said before, it's very similar to a memory foam which is going to be even more pressure relieving than a standard foam. It's also going to be more durable so it'll have a great longevity and long comfort life and that just goes even more so for these tempur-pedic's Like I said, they were developed by top engineers at NASA and this has just continued on for the past 20 years where Tempur-pedic has just refined and honed the formula that goes into these foams. so this is really just top of the line phones you're dealing with here

Tempurpedic ProBreeze Medium Hybrid Mattress Expert Review

 I tried a Wink Bed Plus which was too firm with not enough pressure relief. We then swapped to the WinkBed lux firm but had the same issue..

 I have a Bedgear Glacier 3.0 so didn't need a pillow, but mine came in just under $7k with the Tempurpedic's adjustable power base. I think it will be worth it since 7 years minimum is already better than what I got with S tier.

TLDR; Is it insane to spend $7600 on a new bed?  Bedframe/headboard not included. 

I currently have a Verlo mattress that has now failed three times. It was handed down to me by my parents, but is only 7 years old. Verlo closed their factories in my state so they will not re-stuff it, and I don't want it re-stuffed anyway because there's clearly something wrong with it. 

I have been shopping at Denver Mattress Company and was looking at Aireloom, Stearns &amp; Foster, and TempurPedic. Initially I loved the Stearns &amp; Foster, but then I came home and read a lot of information about them sagging and failing in the same way the Verlo did. I asked the salesperson and he told me the new models have different technology and should not have the same issues, but because they were released in 2020 there is no established track record yet. Same for the Aireloom - they are too new to safely evaluate in my opinion, especially given the price. 

So I turned my attention to TempurPedic. Although it was not my favorite right off the bat, I came to like it the longer I laid on it, and was also swayed by the statistics the sales person quoted that it is the most popular mattress in America and has a 95% customer satisfaction rate. 

I am looking at the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid in King with the adjustable base that includes the ability to program your own settings, so the more expensive base. The price I was quoted today, with a discount, was $7600. That's the mattress, the base, two pillows and a mattress protector. It seems like, from info I've read online, I can only expect a TempurPedic to last 5-7 years. This seems like a really steep price. Full disclosure, I can afford this bed. But I have never spent that much money on anything...except my car and my house. It will be my biggest adult purchase to date if I go through with it. I feel kind of ridiculous even considering it. 

Any thoughts on if this is a terribly extravagant purchase, or is it a wise investment in good sleep? Would especially love to hear from anyone who owns this set up. Thank you!

Having Sticker Shock on the New Bed I Want

 And the Breeze models from Tempur-pedic are probably the coolest sleeping memory foam beds that we've ever tested. If you feel the cover on one of these breeze mattresses, you will notice that it is quite cool to the touch. And there is a lot of technology to make the memory foam in these beds more breathable and provide you with more airflow. So they have two different types of breeze mattresses, the Pro and the Lux

 I would say that the Pro Breeze and the Luxe Breeze competes with other high-end cooling mattresses like the Brooklyn Bedding, Aurora, and the Ghost Bed Lux. Surprisingly, the difference in temperature isn't the only difference between the Pro Breeze and the Luxe Breeze models. They actually have different firmness options you can pick from when you're checking out. so the Pro Breeze comes in a medium and a medium hybrid

 So unlike most online mattress brands, if you get a tempur-pedic mattress, it's actually going to ship to you with a service called White Glove Delivery. This means the local delivery team is going to show up the mattress full size and do all the setup for you and even take away your old mattress if you want them to so you don't have to deal with the hassle of unboxing a mattress. And one thing with unboxing mattresses that can be kind of inconvenient is that they will often take a day or two to fully inflate and reach their proper firmness level. And you won't have to worry about that with a tempurpedic mattress unless you're getting the tempered cloud, but that's not really important to this video

 And after talking about price, that ultimately leaves us with the question, should you spend up to get one of these mattresses And the only people I can really recommend these beds for is someone who's really concerned about sleeping hot and is dead set on getting a tempur-pedic mattress. Tempur-pedic does have that name recognition and there is no doubt that these are very high quality mattresses, but they are out of the price range of a lot of folks out there. If you are looking for a cooling memory foam mattress and the idea of spending this much on a bed is just out of the question, then I might look at the Cocoon Chill or the Ghostbed Luxe. They both have a memory foam feel, not quite as dense as something like tempur-pedic but they do a nice job at sleeping cool as well

TempurPedic Breeze Mattress Review | Best Cooling Memory Foam Beds?

 So this is going to give you a good amount amount of body contouring but still give you good deep down support and not feel like you're going to be sinking into the mattress a ton. This mattress has a number of great features. Starting right at the quilt here, this mattress features the Smart Climate Dual Cover system. This is composed of two different layers

 So if you get into bed at a different time in your significant other or if you have kids or pets that might jump into bed with you from time to time, you'll feel them getting in or out of bed. Less thanks to the fact that this tempur-pedic is completely composed of that tempur-pedic foam. Last but not least, Temporary Tech Foam is highly durable just due to the density and very nature of the product itself. so that's going to help contribute to the longevity and make sure that you'll be able to fully enjoy your mattress for the entire entire duration of the ten-year warranty or beyond

 The top quilt here is composed of an ultra high molecular density yarn. This is actually going to be so dense that it's going to help wick away heat and moisture away from your body and help disperse it so that you can fall asleep cool. This top layer also has a zipper that goes around the entirety of the mattress, so you can actually remove this top panel, throw it in the wash, and then put it back on your mattress if it ever gets dirty. This is a nice feature to note, and especially because the cooling properties in this cover comes from being physically driven rather than chemically driven

 So all in all, if you're looking to get the great benefits of the Tempur-pedic Pro Breeze line that being the Smart Climate dual Cover system as well as the Pure Cool Plus technology and the Tempur CM Plus Foam. But you don't like the idea of having coils in your mattress just looking for an all foam tempur-pedic product then I Highly recommend you taking a look here at the tempur-pedic Pro Breeze medium mattress. We purchased the entire frame and mattresses from tempurdic dealer! The selling point was the cooling effect! I knew that memory foam mattresses sleep very hot however this new feature "BREEZE" was their fix! So, we purchased this split king in 2016 it slept GREAT for 2 plus years then I began to feel indentations so I began turning them every other month oonly to find out that I shouldnt have to do that!! Well, I have a serious bad back I feel every bump and cavern! then 4 years later the cooling effect began to not work.We both are waking up hot throughout the night! Thats uncomfortable! I put in a warranty claim to Tempurdic only to hear that they don't cover comfort issues!!! 10 year warranty is for what then???? We bought that bed because of the cooling effect and not its not working at all!!! They were rude and unable to make us happy! AFTER SPENDING $8,000 for this bed wth a 10 year warranty we now have to look for a new bed!! THANKS ALOT TEMPURPEDIC>>>>>IM NOT FINISHED TRASHING YOUR PRODCUCT!!! YOU RIPPED US OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! This foam mattress works comfortable on my back and side. After several months of use, it’s still as comfortable as ever. It has the right size for the bed frame I got for it. I’m pleased with sleeping in this mattress every night
