I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

<p>Edit: I’m a 5’8” 160 lb male, and I’ll be sleeping in this mattress with my wonderful and tiny 5’0 girlfriend. We tend to sleep on our sides and stomachs.</p>

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

Hi everyone, I am a lightweight side sleeper looking for a medium soft hybrid mattress twin size in Canada. Budget around 600 cad range. Thinking maybe to try the online bed in a box first, since most store mattress choice under 1000 is quite limited (and also I don’t own a car to go around store by store). 

We are not comfortable as a couple with plush soft but we both want support and softness. What are some examples we should be considering to meet both of our needs?

Help! We value your input and are thinking an internal split King DIY but are unsure which company would be best to purchase from and I am lost as to what we should purchase..Hybrid, all latex?

4. There is a local small mattress manufacturer that u/the_leviathan711 pulled up for me; they have a model that is 6" solid latex over 6-8" extremely high density polyfoam (can't recall, but its basically the support) that comes in 5 grades of softness. I enjoyed their "softer" model but they run around $4000 so we're iffy on that.

. but if someone can provide some info/experience with it, that would make me feel more secure in the decision.

Additionally- having tried #1 and #4 myself, I'd say I like the feel of #4 more- it felt much more supportive, and extremely cozy when I threw a cheap 2" topper over it... I'm guessing because of the fact that it is 6" latex as opposed to a relatively thin layer over some coils

Been mattress hunting, and am leaning towards a latex-containing king-sized mattress after trying some out locally. This is what I'm deciding between:

TLDR: looking for a plush yet support all-latex mattress, leaning towards Flexus Comfort. Which would be a better choice - 13" latex mattress, or 10" latex mattress with 3" topper?

So I'm thinking we may be better off with a fairly thick all-latex mattress. I've been looking at Flexus Comfort, since I like the idea of customizing the layers for each side (with the option to swap out an individual layer later if needed).  My first inclination is to go with the 13" mattress - four 3" layers would allow for plenty of comfort in the top layers and still having firmer support layers below. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is the 1" of wool in the cotton mattress cover
