I’m currently sleeping on the 25+ year old mattress that I was conceived on. As you can imagine I’m very excited to graduate from this one for multiple reasons. 

After trying out a handful of different mattresses and understanding the ridiculous prices of some, I’ve come to the conclusions that 1) I prefer a medium/firm bed, and 2) I’m poor. I visited IKEA today and found the $500 Heston mattress (queen size). Curious if anyone has any experience with it, how it holds up, or any advice whatsoever. Thanks in advance!

<p>Edit: I’m a 5’8” 160 lb male, and I’ll be sleeping in this mattress with my wonderful and tiny 5’0 girlfriend. We tend to sleep on our sides and stomachs.</p>

my mother has severe spinal stenosis (several discs have broken down, she's had rods and screws installed with little benefit, as well as a torn glute repair. take care of your spines, kids.) she's 56, ~155, and sleeps on her back, prefers med-firm or firm. her gentleman companion says he's comfortable on whatever. while they were moving in together I bought them a zinus, warning them that it would break down fairly quickly and need to be replaced, and that it would be a pain when it did. the time has come.

she's up every night in serious pain, and sometimes doesn't bother trying to sleep at all. her job is very difficult and both emotionally and physically demanding, especially during covid. I don't feel like I can waste her time with a bunch of returns or DIYing something, though the zippered mattresses with layers seem doable.

she's willing to spend up to $3500 and is interested in latex or a latex hybrid for its lifespan. I'd like to avoid memory foam and memory foam hybrids because if the next mattress sags within five years I'm going to turn into the Joker.

currently looking at the Alexander nest hybrid or an Ikea hesstun mattress+good latex topper, since we live fairly close to an Ikea and a return would plausibly be easier than dealing with a mattress company.
can anyone point me in the right direction, or confirm my instincts?

 The Nectar Lush is made with three layers of foam. It also has a stretch knit cover that's cool to the touch and it's more pronounced than the original Nectar. We really did notice that when you lay your hands on this mattress it does have a very cool feel to it. So that's great because you're going to sink into that mattress and you're going to need those cooling properties to help keep you cool throughout the night

 The queen size Nectar Lush retails for $13.99 after discounts. You also get their 365 night trial so you can try it out in the comfort of your house for an entire year which is great. You can try it out in all four seasons to make sure that that cooling technology actually works in the middle of July

 Finally you get what they call their forever warranty. Now I've spoken about the forever warranty with the original Nectar mattress and this same warranty applies with the Nectar Lush. What that means is for the first 10 years they cover any type of defect whatsoever and will fully replace your mattress. Beyond that 10 years the same applies so any defect from workmanship you're fully covered and that's for the life of your mattress

 The Nectar Lush was made to give customers in retail stores an option besides just the original Nectar. Now this mattress is great for side sleepers. In fact I think it's ideal for side sleeping just because you sink into it so much and I have broad shoulders. I noticed that I was really able to sink into that mattress and felt cradled

Nectar Lush Mattress Review l What Do You Get for the Money?

 The zipper is right here. This is a very nice spot for the zipper versus on the very bottom because you're going to be able to unzip it and wash the cover very easily without having to take this bottom part off, which is going to be the hardest part to get back on the mattress. So this is, it feels like it has a really nice balance, I'm getting a lot of pressure relief but I'm not sinking super far in where I feel really stuck. Feel supportive in my lumbar

 I would say it's about a 5.5 out of 10 with 10 being the firmest so it's definitely softer than the original Nectar is, it's going to work really nice for side sleepers. Very good pressure relief, I'm not getting a lot of pressure on my shoulder here or my hip sinking in effortlessly into that top layer memory foam in that transitional layer. So first lay here I think side sleepers are going to love this, couples that are worried about motion transfer

 That was really good. That was exceptional. And last, but not least, is edge support. So this category isn't a top priority for most sleepers, but if you share a bed or like to sit on the edge while you're getting dressed or playing video games, you might find the Lush a bit lacking

 The gel focuses on the lumbar area to wick away any heat that might build up from the foam. In the middle, you'll find a two-inch Energex foam that serves as a transition layer. This foam does have a quicker response time than the top layer, meaning that it bounces back to shape a bit faster, but it should still have all those pressure-relieving qualities that the memory foam provides. And on the bottom, we have a high-density poly foam

 So who do we think will love the Nectar Lush? Side sleepers. With a three inch memory foam top layer, side sleepers should find Lush to soften pressure points around the hips and shoulders and gently sink into the bed. Also hot sleepers. Gel foam and a cooling cover help combat any heat trapping that can occur in the middle of the night

 It's about seven inches tall, and it's much firmer than the other two layers to give the mattress some solid support. And all of the foams in this bed are Certipure US certified. So now that we've talked about what's inside the bed, let's talk about how those layers work together, how the bed feels. On our firmness scale, with 10 being like a rock and one being like sleeping on cotton candy, we'd rate this bed at about a 5

 So, with this mattress, you can sleep virtually undisturbed and the base is adjustable base friendly. So, if you're in the market for an adjustable base, this mattress is going to be fully compatible. The last couple things I want to talk about with this are the fantastic guarantees that come with it. Nectar really goes above and beyond what you see in the mattress industry because they are trying to offer a substantial value and they really succeed in that respect
