 This thing here is just i can. When i get high on delta 8, i can just pop up. I can just anywhere in the house. I can just pop this thing out put it on and i can be watching some kind of crazy entertaining video in a matter of seconds

 The phone control is poor at best. It lets me navigate the menus it lets me. Click around in a video game i'll never be able to accurately shoot or do things it never scales the phone to where it's at the phone doesn't even really like move. If i reach my hand out it's just kind of on a rotating axis and it just rotates and points at things, so the phone controller was a very poor choice

com for about five dollars, so that was pure profit for them it does fit well, it does work. Well, it looks cool, it's just a little bit overpriced. The big downside here is the external power bank. So while it's a wireless headset you'll have it on your head and with the little power cable going down behind your ear and probably plugging into your pocket, so it feels a little bit more wired than what you probably want

Not Quite Ready Player One (HTC Vive Flow Review)

The Vive Flow's form factor is great, but the resolution is just too small to be any good.  If it was Micro-led it would have won.  But we'll see the sales this Christmas and that will decide the winner.

IMO, nobody really won, but the Varjo Aero came close with a beautiful, but expensive headset.

Price of the Vive Flow

For me, I'm pleased to see others also happy with Index, reporting it's performance against other systems is enlightening as I have little to no exposure on other hardware at the moment.

Index for me has been a great purchase, price point, beyond the tech specs is far better than any other system out there, and there are no compromises.

Curious to know others way into VR, what they think of the current splay of headsets out there, and how MARKETING from various companies will influence the market.

Then, the tutorial app displayed some lines in the left lense, and then in the right one and asked me to adjust the diopter dial slowly until lines are clear.

The refresh rate definitely feels like it's not 90hz (it's 75). The FOV is slightly smaller than Quest 2, especially horizontal.

The screen resolution is really nice, I didn't notice any screen door effect. It is sharp and clear, no godrays, and reminded me of gear VR.

 I found mostly small games that I might play occasionally, not tools I’d spend $499 to access.

Hand tracking could partly solve the interaction issue. But gesture interfaces remain frustratingly hit-or-miss and typically require holding your fingers up to perform fine motions, which also seems like a bad option if your hands have limited mobility, and I didn’t get to try HTC’s version in my demo. O’Brien says HTC is still toying with options for other control systems — its plan is to release the headset and then tweak its design based on how people use it.

 But thanks to the long-running trend of ever-bigger phones, I could barely fit my hand around HTC’s phone to tap virtual buttons on the screen. It’s also a strange choice for any headset aimed at older users, who are dramatically less likely to own smartphones.

 But I still had to be careful while turning my head, and the feeling of carefully balancing the headset wasn’t exactly relaxing.

The smartphone-based controller, the Vive Flow’s biggest departure from standard VR design, is theoretically reasonable but practically awkward. I used an HTC-provided Android device that worked fine as a VR laser pointer. But thanks to the long-running trend of ever-bigger phones, I could barely fit my hand around HTC’s phone to tap virtual buttons on the screen. It’s also a strange choice for any headset aimed at older users, who are dramatically less likely to own smartphones

HTC wants to find a new VR market — but what is it?

 They feel simultaneously too small, and yet too big. The nubby handles results in my pinkie finger wrapping around the bottom (think that picture of Andre the Giant holding a can of beer), but the huge-ass grip button means my middle finger isn't wrapped firmly around the controller, so I'm holding it with the two weakest fingers on the human hand. The plastic feels cheap and makes me sweat a lot, the bulky sensor ring makes it feel top-heavy and like it will topple out of my hands if I don't hold on (even though it actually won't). 

So anyway, that's my thoughts on the Quest 2 from the perspective of a long-time player of PC VR! I thought Quest 2 fans might be interested to read them!

Oh God. I hate these things with every fibre of my being. They feel simultaneously too small, and yet too big. Semi-related to controllers, but I love how there's sensors on the sides of the headset which lets you do stuff by tapping them. It feels very natural and gives you two extra forms of input that don't need to be crammed onto the controller. You can sorta do this with the Index but putting the controllers near your head and gripping/pulling the trigger, but this is much better.

 When you begin casting from your phone (I'm using a Samsung Z Fold 2 and it works with the screen closed or open), it switches to casting and then overlays the "Flow Controller" over the cast of your screen. This means the screen goes dim and you press on different areas of the screen to push different "buttons" on the controller (top of screen for menu, side of screen to click, etc.). This works well, however, the only thing you can't really do with the controller is long-press anything on your screen

 As it stands right now, there are around 100 games/apps and most of them are okay at best.

 One thing that I like is when you are streaming from your phone, you can go into your phone's settings and switch the audio output from the Flow to your own Bluetooth headphones. This works great and doesn't require any additional pairing, however, it only works while streaming from your phone. Any audio from VR apps in the Flow will still use the built-in speakers.

**Audio:** The built-in speakers in the arms of the headset are on par with Oculus Quest audio. Serviceable, but less than ideal. One thing that I like is when you are streaming from your phone, you can go into your phone's settings and switch the audio output from the Flow to your own Bluetooth headphones. This works great and doesn't require any additional pairing, however, it only works while streaming from your phone

I'm leaning toward the VP2 mainly for the higher resolution. I was curious how watching movies is with Bigscreen or a similar program compared to the Index. Can you tell that the movies look better in a VP2 with it's higher resolution?

When watching movies how does the Vive Pro 2 compare with the Index?

 The Vr3 did a good job with comfort, but the weight was without a doubt the limiting factor. Even though the balancing was good, you could still tell that you are wearing quite a heavy device. The arrow is much lighter than the Vr3 because there is no more hand tracking and no more focus displays. The device is now 300 grams lighter and weighs only around 500 grams

 Of course, a single cable also benefits comfort and ease of use. Comfort is an especially important aspect here since the Aero is clearly aimed at the high-end simmer community at users that want to wear the device for hours and hours at a time. The Vr3 did a good job with comfort, but the weight was without a doubt the limiting factor. Even though the balancing was good, you could still tell that you are wearing quite a heavy device

 From the outside you can still distinguish the two headsets though because the Arrow only needs one cable whereas the Vr3 still needed two of them. That also means instead of two Dp ports and two Usb ports like with the Vr3 now, only one Dp port and a single Usb port are needed to connect the Aero to a gaming Pc. Of course, a single cable also benefits comfort and ease of use. Comfort is an especially important aspect here since the Aero is clearly aimed at the high-end simmer community at users that want to wear the device for hours and hours at a time

 here about the Vario Arrow, but without further ado, let's directly get into the review and let's start with the basics: build quality and comfort. The build quality and materials used are top notch. The Arrow is a well-built high-end device that feels just as premium as the Vr3. It does not come as a surprise though since both headsets use exactly the same casing that even features woven fabric parts instead of an all plastic enclosure like most of the competition
