GIR Skinny vs OXO Good Grips Silicone

Feels good in the hand and is perfect for getting that last little bit out of a container. A bright red. I have no idea why most spatulas this size have such short handles -- this one's handle is the perfect length to keep one's hands clean. Most spatula sets don't have this size included so I finally broke down and bought this one

My only caveat to a buyer is that if you scrape hard with them the silicone over the area where the handle is embedded in the head can crack, and then you could be scraping the exposed metal on your non-stick pans. Even so, we've gone through about a dozen over the years and keep coming back.

I was looking more for a solid, silicone, sturdy spatula. I think there is a wooden base covered in silicone. Fine for some purposes, but not for others.

For cookies, even delicate peanut butter or spritz cookies it has that thin round corner that slides under anything. You really cannot use this for anything heavy like a burger as it’s too flexible and small but then that’s not its purpose. I love it for cookies, tarts, loosening anything on a sheet pan but I love it for eggs too especially scrabbled because I can clean the eggs out of the mixing bowl and get them off the sides of the pan!

I have had my GIR Ultimate spatula for a couple of years now and love it just as much as I did on day one! It is one piece, super easy to clean, doesn't get hot, stain resistant and has the prefect amount of flex. I have replaced most of my kitchen utensils with GIR gear and frequently give GIR as a gift.

My only wish is that the working part of the spatula at the end was two inches longer. It takes more passes to scrape the sides of a bowl clean. Perhaps I'll look around for a one.

My old nylon silicone spatulas we're starting to wear out so I had to look for something that was small that I could use as a flipper and as a spreader. These have worked out fine. And are a great size for both flipping small Foods on the stove or on the barbecue and as a mayonnaise or butter spreader
