If I run into issues I will update this review. I have had a number of bad experiences with all the China manufactured dehumidifiers but this one does seem to have a better overall build quality. We shall see.

Nice idea. The reality is that these units collect and store water, as such the humidity around them tends to increase quite rapidly once the airflow ceases. Frigidaire deals better with this problem by extending the window for off/on. For example, if you set the desired level at 50%, it’ll run until it hits 45%, and it won’t turn on again until humidity rises to 55%

It worked great for a while, really helping bring down the humidity in our basement. Unfortunately, at around the 18 month mark, the pump started having problems and was inconsistent. Despite through cleaning of the tank, flushing and ultimately replacing all the drain lines, etc., the problem continued

3) Hard to empty without spilling water. The water collection container must fill nearly to the top before the unit auto shuts off. To remove the container it requires a pretty strong 'tug' to unseat it from the dehumidifier. Without fail, that tug causes the water to slosh in the container and spill on the ground

Just be sure to purchase the extended service contract as their dehumidifiers are not known for their longevity. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will be better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've had this unit for just over a month now and so far so good. So it will be interesting as time marches on will it be just as efficient in filling up it's bucket in about 6 hours and or continue to run for the next 4 years. So far I am happy with it, it's doing what it's supposed to, it's more quiet than my previous units but then I don't spend much time in my dungeon err I mean basement unless I am building something and it just sounds like a fan running.

I will revise this review after I have had the opportunity to test its efficiency and the pump function. I have found customer service to be horrible and unresponsive. Update July 22: I discovered from reading all customer questions that the plastic splash cover does come off and the procedure for doing so, although I haven’t tried to remove it yet. I was also able to figure out which hose opening to use with the pump, again by reading customer responses to questions, so thank you Amazon customers! As far as customer service goes, to clarify, I rate the helpfulness from the manufacturer a zero

I planned on using the hose to drain the water into the condenstate pump for the AC unit where it will be pumped away.

I'm now calling in a warranty claim. I will say that we weren't consistent with the maintenance (as stated in the manual which is to basically clean it every couple of weeks), however we did maintain it pretty well. I like this dehumidifier because it has a large bucket & it's in a place where I can't use the tube to constantly drain it. I would say that if you buy this product (or any other dehumidifier), purchase the optional service agreement that goes with it

Easy to empty the water but a little finicky to get bucket back in place straight (not a huge deal). Not obtrusively loud, but they are all going to make some noise. I am using it to get humidity down while not having to have central AC (yeah, old system that needs replacing one of these years) cranked up too cool for my comfort. It seems to work well for that purpose, because the humidity needs to be controlled

This is not going to be something that you are going to be able to ignore ... it is a MAJOR negative factor about this

I was within the first 30 days after buying it. I assumed that if the product is defective I don't have to pay for returning it, but I was wrong. Amazon told me (online) that I have to pay. When I tried the third-party company who shipped it (VidaZen) they never responded

It was louder than the dishwasher, louder than the air conditioner, and louder than the (world's noisiest) furnace. This unit is probably best placed somewhere out of the way of daily traffic and definitely far away from any bedroom. If placed in a living area, good luck trying to ignore the sound. I was also surprised at how much heat was generated

They are both pretty loud even on the nonturbo side, I use one in the garage and one in my utility room. The second unit works only when you select the humidity level at which you wish to obtain, in all other modes it does not pull any moisture out of the air. I fully intended to send the second unit back and obtained authorization to do so but found the shipping cost we’re gonna be $80. I decided at that point to just use it in the modem which I know it works
