If I run into issues I will update this review. I have had a number of bad experiences with all the China manufactured dehumidifiers but this one does seem to have a better overall build quality. We shall see.

That pulls moisture out of the air, which collects in a bucket, which you have to empty on a regular basis. This unit has a pump, which allows you to pump it some short distance (~ 16 feet or so). The cooler cools, the pump pumps - what more could you ask for. Well, running a dehumidifier is a lot like plopping down a window AC in the middle of the room at running that (with or without the pump)

It worked great for a while, really helping bring down the humidity in our basement. Unfortunately, at around the 18 month mark, the pump started having problems and was inconsistent. Despite through cleaning of the tank, flushing and ultimately replacing all the drain lines, etc., the problem continued

I have not used the hose/pump feature; I simply wait til the bucket fills up, then empty it. Quite annoying that it is supposed to turn off once the humidity level reaches the set point, but it does not. So it basically just runs all the time unless you manually turn it off, or unless the bucket filled up. Otherwise works fine

Just be sure to purchase the extended service contract as their dehumidifiers are not known for their longevity. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this one will be better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Metal will begin rusting in days in my shop. Since I got this unit, I have it set at 40% and I would say it probably runs 10 out of 24 hours. We’ll see how the longevity is over time. So far, super happy

I will revise this review after I have had the opportunity to test its efficiency and the pump function. I have found customer service to be horrible and unresponsive. Update July 22: I discovered from reading all customer questions that the plastic splash cover does come off and the procedure for doing so, although I haven’t tried to remove it yet. I was also able to figure out which hose opening to use with the pump, again by reading customer responses to questions, so thank you Amazon customers! As far as customer service goes, to clarify, I rate the helpfulness from the manufacturer a zero

I have one simple advise for anyone considering this product: save yourself some money and trouble and please don't.

I'm now calling in a warranty claim. I will say that we weren't consistent with the maintenance (as stated in the manual which is to basically clean it every couple of weeks), however we did maintain it pretty well. I like this dehumidifier because it has a large bucket & it's in a place where I can't use the tube to constantly drain it. I would say that if you buy this product (or any other dehumidifier), purchase the optional service agreement that goes with it

I just wish it would drain out the hose so I don't have to keep going in that crawl space.

This is not going to be something that you are going to be able to ignore ... it is a MAJOR negative factor about this
