Frigidaire FFAD2233W1 vs TCL TDW40E20

Our first was a Keystone which worked great for 6 years, then started leaving water on the floor. Since it was not ranked as high we chose the Frigidaire.

We've had a problem with the master bedroom being 10-15% more humid than the rest of the house which we have not been able to fix, so our next option was to buy a dehumidfier. This product does work well but it is loud and I cannot use it at night. Actually, I can hear it running from other parts of the house, it's that loud. The only other issues is lights

In Feb 2021, I purchased this model after some careful research on the internet, knowing that our basement usually gets very humid in the three months of summer, and there is a range of performances among the models on the market. This model was great when it worked at the beginning, just as many positive reviews described. It then went to hibernation as fall came and the air became dry. Previous dehumidifiers have pulled 20-25 pints/day from the same area. The problem is compounded by the response I have gotten from TLC. They keep wanting to “troubleshoot” the problem, even after two long phone conversations. The last suggestion was that I send it back for repair

I took it apart and found the coil was all rusty and had leaked the refrigerant. This was not a huge surprise, because it had been putting out nasty red brown water for some time. This Frigidaire unit is putting out clean clear water, but it's only been a few months. We have salt air here near the coast and it's hard on HVAC units and maybe dehumidifiers, so time will tell what kind of longevity we get from it

This works for about 3 hours, then the dehumidifier starts blowing cold humid air once again. I'll try support again but expect a replacement will be just as bad. This is the last TCL product I ever buy.

We have been dealing with high humidity (South California foothills environment)…even with the A/C running pretty much constantly, we were in 60-65% humidity range and having to be at 65-68 degrees…without A/C on, humidity would jump to 70-77%….as soon as we got this dehumidifier delivered, we turned on, left it on overnight, and without A/C overnight we woke up to 45% humidity! Definitely a game changer…it is a bit noisy, maybe a bit more than central A/C, and I’m sure this will consume electricity $$$…but basically this allows us to not have to run A/C constantly so we think it’ll be at least neutral on cost if not overall cheaper. And we don’t have to have the house at 65-68 degrees! Recommend for sure. Not sure on longevity as I only just got this a couple days ago

Sad that a brand new dehumidifier, which had good reviews on Amazon, didn't even last 3 whole months. Not to mention, I had to go through the hassle of disposing of the unit at the local recycling center, which cost me $15, plus the $29.99, for a 4 year extend warranty which I'll never be able to use.

I empty it twice a day when the water bin is full. It rolls easily. The filter is easy to remove, clean and replace. The water catchment bin also is easy to remove, empty, and replace

Fortunately, I didn't drop it and the handle went back on fairly easily, but I did mash my finger in the process. (pouty face). Lesson learned, do not tip the reservoir to either side corner to empty as the handle can come loose. Keep it straight and even when pouring
