 I'Ve now got the m1 imac here that again enabled me to just tidy this desk up a bit, so this e7 desk, which is smaller than the test i had before i've, got to be very careful with in terms of how much of it i use up. I don't i don't like clutter, i like to keep things simple and the great thing about the 24 inch imac is that it's not very big, so i've completely paired down the desk. It'S got the imac on it. It'S got my ifi zendak hub that i mentioned a moment ago

 I highly recommend it. It'S a brilliant desk and the best of it is there is a offer on at the moment. You have to be very quick because i'm publishing this video on the 25th of may and i think it finishes on this day, but if it's available go for it and basically, if you go to the link in my description, you can get 15 pounds off all Orders over 150 pounds or more they're calling it flexi spot day. It is the 25th which is today possibly as you're watching this so be quick

 It was a really really heavy package and that's quite reassuring actually for a desk because you want it to be sturdy. So the fact it was properly heavy but actually was quite quite nice, the installation, the setup really straightforward, you just build it yourself, use an allen key for most of it screwdriver here and there didn't take me long. To be honest, it was one of those jobs that i picked a saturday to do it. I thought right clear: the decks, let's go for it cleared out the old ikea desk, put that in the garage and basically went from there and set up the e7 and, like i say it's, a really simple, install if you've not installed a desk yourself

 It looks very premium, it's not cheap, but it looks like a well built premium desk and this is a motorized desk, so it comes with a little control panel. On the left hand side, although you can fit it on either side. Actually, you can raise and lower it the version that i've got has four settings, so you can basically choose four default settings for yourself at any height that you want and when it's raised it's nice and stable when it's low, it's stable. As I have no drill but luckily for me the Malm top is shit, so I was able to just screw everything in by hand, but it's still strong enough to actually stay in place. I'm pretty sure this top is just honeycomb in the middle, so I assembled the frames as close to the edge as I could to ensure some form of solidness.

Assembly of the frame was really easy and straightforward. My cable duct is in backorder, but the frames do come with a cover for the mid section which holds the main cables for the motor and I was able to stuff some other big stuff in there. The instructions come in English, German and French, were easy to follow.  

It was easy to assemble and works incredibly well. We've had no issues with it so far! (He's only had it a couple of weeks).

 So we decided to ask for the desk top in black as a replacement instead. I told them that the Black colour choice didn't exist online in the 60 x 30 dimension, so they should update the website.

We ordered the large 60 x30 desk top in Bamboo. Once the legs and other parts arrived, we waited another week, but as the desk top didn't arrive, we contacted customer service who told us the Bamboo desk top was out of stock (I didn't understand why they hadn't informed us before) and then said we could have it in black instead. So we decided to ask for the desk top in black as a replacement instead. I told them that the Black colour choice didn't exist online in the 60 x 30 dimension, so they should update the website

 It looks absolutely great in terms of building the desk, as you can see from the installation, it was really straightforward. The build quality is excellent in both off the frame and of the desktop itself, and i think it looks great in this all black color again. The desk is also pretty sturdy um. One of the other things i was really keen to test with a standing desk was to use it with a desktop, rather than a laptop, because you're going to have a whole lot of cables coming down

What i actually did was. I installed a power brick underneath the desk with some double-sided tape, and that is the only wire that comes down to the floor

 Next, we can go ahead and attach the feet to the frame each is held on with four bolts. We can then go ahead and lift the frame onto the desktop. I think this would be possible to do with one person but to get a good camera angle. I did get my son to give me a hand lifting this on, because i've gone with one of flexispot's desktop

 I think I've just found the perfect computer desk. The Ikea Skarska desk is a great conventional desk but at a turn of the crank it turns into an Ergal friendly stand up unit. With a solid build quality, great modern look, and a budget friendly price I'm excited to try out this new desk. Here's my unboxing, assembly, and first impression

The IKEA SKARSTA is a height adjustable sit/standing desk with a turn crank. This is similar to the IKEA BEKANT sit/standing desk but uses electronic motor to adjust the desk up and down. 

I chose the IKEA SKARSTA over the IKEA BEKANT because of several reports of electronic motor failure, the nicer design on the Skarsta, and the much lower price tag.

This is not a full review. I'll test out the desk for a couple weeks before giving my review but my first impression is that this desk is going to be great. I do demonstrate the wobbling you may experience with the desk at it's maximum height at the end of the video. It's not a big concern to me right now.

 So I'm gonna try that and I'm gonna let you know if this is possible. Of course that I know that you can modify stuff, but I want to know if this is going to be complicated. Now I'm gonna share with you the packaging of this stuff, so let me show you the packages that the SCASTA standing, sitting, adjustable desk, manual desk comes in. It comes in two packages

 So in order for me to let you know what I think about the SCASTA and to show you how I assemble it, let's not waste any time. Let me grab the Swiss knife. Here is the Swiss knife. And we're going to unpackage it

 Here is the Swiss knife. And we're going to unpackage it. Let's go! Well, boys and girls, in this video I unpackaged and assembled the SCARSTAR adjustable desk by IKEA. Overall, I think this is a very impressive adjustable desk for my needs

 I guess that I still need to spend more time with it in order to have a more thorough impression about it, and over time I promised to update this info in the description to this video, so you will be able to get updates about what I think about it and about my experience with this SCARSTAR adjustable desk. Overall, the flat surface is ok, if you are familiar with other IKEA desks, then you should know what to expect from the material and the quality of it and the durability, if you want to prevent from getting scratched and everything, so place something on it, a table cloth to prevent from this thing to get damaged. You can also replace it with the larger plates without spending money on the base, just a flat surface, so it's a good thing and it will save you money, and this one is the smallest one and it's still quite big, and I can place two laptops on it and even other stuff, and I still have space to work, and it can carry up to 50 kilos, so it's a good thing, and no movement, and it's sitting very firmly on a flat surface, and it was very easy for me to assemble this thing, it took me about an hour, and I also shot this video during that hour, the manual mechanism is very easy to take it out and to insert it back and raise it and lower it, it's also not too complicated, it takes about a minute to raise it and lower it from the max to minimum, and the other way, but overall it works well, if you're gonna do that several times a day, I guess it's gonna be a pain in the neck, but other than that, for me several times a week, it's not a deal breaker, the only thing that I noticed is that when it's on the most lowest point of it, you need to raise it a bit in order to be able to place the handle back to its place, but it's not a bad thing, it's a good thing, other than that, the most important thing for me that I was glad to learn, I didn't find this info anywhere, is that I can add wheels to this desk, which will make it a mobile desk, and I will be able to move it easily from place to place, so this is what I hope I gave you the additional input about this adjustable desk by Ikea, the Scarstar, and that's it, I hope you enjoyed watching this video about this adjustable desk by Ikea, I hope this video review was informative, interesting, helpful, whatever, funny maybe, I don't know, and if so I invite you to like this video, you can also subscribe to my YouTube channels and I also invite you to follow me on my social network pages, and that's it, I would like to thank you for watching, another great video by Original Video Reviews, until next time, bye bye.

The pros:
- Easy to assemble – I assume it should take you about an hour (which is the time it took me – including shooting this video during the process).
- The desk is firm with no noticeable movements - This applies to the min/max. heights of the desk.
- Overall quality - The desk looks and feels much better than the previous adjustable desk I reviewed, and I’m happy with the overall quality. Please note I still didn’t encounter the deterioration that was mentioned on other video reviews (that were excellent and thorough), so if my opinion will change over time I will update this info.
- You can replace the levelers with wheels – this is something that was important to me personally when I considered this desk because I needed a mobile desk.
- You can replace the upper plate and keep the same base.
- The manual handle grip to adjust the height of the desk is working well – I believe a child/old person will be able to rotate it easily. 

The cons:
- Price compared to electric adjustable desks – This is a tricky one, compared to electric adjustable desks the price is cheaper where I currently live, but it’s not as attractive as I would expect in other places.  
- Price compared to other IKEA desks – I thought it would be cheaper compared to other desks sold by IKEA, especially because it’s a manual desk. But the metal base is probably what makes it pricier.
- When the desk is at the minimum height you need to raise it a bit to place the manual handle back to its place – This is not a deal-breaker, but I think it should be noted somewhere.
- If you plan to adjust the desk several times a day then you might be better with an electric standing desk.
- Though I was glad to learn that I can replace the levelers with wheels, I wish IKEA would offer this option on their own initiative.
- Available only in white color.

 I mean you can't beat that and especially if you're just trying to you know be more ergonomic while you're working at home and I honestly only spend about two or three hours in the morning standing at my desk and after that I'm sitting in my Herman Miller chair after that. If you guys want to check out the honest review on that go ahead and check out the description below where I do an honest review on this but you know it's great for two hours two to three hours a day with the standing desk and having to deal with a manual crank like it's totally worth it. As far as using the standing desk portion of this I use it actually just once a day. So generally what I'll do is I'll start standing up in the morning

 The other thing that I did splurge on when I got this desk is this mat. I went to Office Depot and spent I think I honestly overpaid for it because now I look on Amazon and there's like way better mats that are like under thirty dollars but this is the mat that I got at Office Depot it was eighty dollars and I just wanted one at the time. So I decided to get a standing mat just because my feet were like just not in pain but just really uncomfortable after like two hours but after getting this mat and using it it's been pretty comfortable and then what I do is I just slip it between like the legs and my other Alex cabinet and just have it out of the way or even like just slip it underneath the desk and it's fine. There are different colors that you can get with this I really wanted like this gold pink rose gold pink but they didn't have it so I ended up just getting a black mat which is fine

 I mean if you're thinking about it, I would definitely recommend it seems like a good sturdy desk I even have a big old, you know, 27 inch iMac and it's not a problem If you have the money, I probably get the electric one, but it's not necessary So, um, yeah, I mean, I would recommend it. It's pretty pretty sweet desk Very handy. I like being able to move around and switch between sitting and standing. So, um, yeah Go buy it, I guess

 Usually it comes with a white top But you know whites pretty boring. So I bought one of my key is longer tops This is like a six or seven foot long kitchen counter and then basically just put this on top I did have to cut these things a little bit Because the desk was a little narrower than the standard one, but it was pretty easy. And I think it looks a lot better So I'll show you how the crank I mean the cranks pretty easy You can see kind of how that how it works under there and it just you know crank up to go up and down You know, I'll show you how long it takes Okay, I'll kind of speed this up for you here, but uh We'll do it. I'm gonna start a timer

 I made that myself or like refinished an old one myself that used to be Ikea wood But uh now it's a lot cooler. So I did that So that's about it.
