 Well, the answer to that isn't a clear cut. yes or no. If the only reason you're considering an upgrade to the Flare 58 is because you expect it to make far and away better espresso. I would say that isn't necessarily the case

 the temperature controller. Even though it's one of the more controversial additions to the Flair 58, it's actually one of the most welcome additions in my opinion. It has three settings: low, medium, and high heat. Personally, as a firm believer of all things preheating, even though Reddit may disagree, I use the high setting almost exclusively hold the power button to turn on

THE FLAIR 58 - The Review

 A used one should still fit your budget and those machines are made to last. Pair either with the DF64/G-IOTA grinder and you have yourself a nice little setup.

I like my espresso to be dark. I dislike it fruity/sweet(if that's relevant). I've been thinking of getting Gaggia Classic Pro, but the Breville Bambino Plus seems like a solid choise too. I am thinking of pairing those with a Eureka Mingon Specalista.  Would these two work? It's for personal use. Probably once or twice a day.

EDIT: To be exact, I like my coffee paired with cold milk and ice. I like the intensity of the coffee paired with milk and ice. Literally, just for an iced latte. I don&#39;t care for frother quality, or if it even existed with the machine, I&#39;ll just be drinking an iced latte.

 Milk drinks can be prepared by using milk frothers that are also easy to maintain. The quality may not be as good but I think the students will have fun and experience and you don’t have to invest in giant commercial machines and rely on students to maintain and use.

Also, is coffee hard to make? If it is easy to do well enough, then i'll propose to send students on workshops. If it is difficult, then what should i do?

Setting up an in-school, student-run coffeeshop and i need help.

They still suffer from the old heat problems that plagued them decades ago too. La pavoni levers are a dinosaur compared to newer budget lever machines like the Flair 58. I hope they either decrease prices or introduce a better group head that can compete with the Flairs as I just dont see how they can stand still whilst all these new lever machines beat them at every metric.

Stay away from E61 HX machines since you don’t care about steam that much and their temperature control generally isn’t good. Or if you only need to steam occasionally, save some money with a single boiler option such as Breville Infuser or Lelit Victoria , both of which still have programmable preinfusion and PID. If you can accept some out of the box solution, get a Flair 58 which should have reasonable temperature control while letting you do Pressure Profiling like a $3000 machine.

1: I am a novice at espresso making, will not be considering manual machines or machines that are difficult to handle.

2: All I care about is a TASTY Espresso. A machine and grinder that makes a tasty espresso without breaking the bank, steaming milk is secondary. 

2: There are 4 coffee drinkers in my house and we rarely drink all at the same time due to differing commitments.

3: My whole &#39;&#39;90 to 95% comment&#39;&#39;, I want a machine that wont break the bank such as a LMLN for nearly 4K or a EG-1 something gets me to 90-95 there.

A Pro Consumer Setup that gets me 90-95% of a MAX setup?

Fellow Flair 58 user here. Yes it is channeling, I had the same issue when I first started out where it looked very "thin and stringy" as opposed to that nice full looking shot of espresso. I was using a Breville Smart Grind Pro when my 58 first arrived but since then I have upgraded to a Mignon Specialita which has made a world of a difference in the quality of the grinds and shots.

I used to have a cheap espresso machine and I still have a basic cuisinart burr grinder, but the espresso machine died and I was gifted around 500 nespresso pods, so I bought the pixie and have been using it since. I mostly make iced lattes and with the nespresso pods, that means 2 pods per cup which is maybe about a triple shot. and we make between 2 and 8 cups a day between my wife and I and other people that stop out.

I’ve been using my nespresso pixie for the past 3 years and although it’s convenient, all the pods tasted more or less the same to me now, it’s getting boring and expensive. I’d love to get a proper entry level set up and would love some set recommendations for something within the $500 - $1.5k range. I was looking at the breville barista touch but it has mixed reviews

 In this case, it's a single serve espresso making machine.

 It's called the Pixie and it's by Nespresso.

 Let's dive in, show you what it can do, and of course, brew some espresso.

 All right guys, so first off, the Pixie, I have to say, really lives up to its name.

 This is something I love about this machine is how small it is.

 Takes up literally almost no room on your countertop, yet it really does a great job

 at brewing some awesome, awesome espresso.

 It's got a water tank mounted at the back of it.

 This water tank will keep a bunch of water ready for you to brew that espresso.

 There's not a filter in this tank so you probably want to use filtered water with your Nespresso

 Very, very easy to set up, however, just fill that tank up.

 After that, the machine is very straightforward.

 On the top, we've got our two brew sizes.

 We have a single shot and a double shot, a double shot being a LUMGO.

 One thing that's very much worth mentioning on this machine is that it has a 19 bar pressure

 19 bar is actually well above the required standard for an espresso machine to be able

 So this machine actually meets and exceeds the amount of pressure that it is supposed
