 A low battery warning does not need to be full volumn and it does not need to sound like a smoke or CO warning! When the alarm is blasting one naturally assumes leaving the area is the best course. So battery warning drives one from the building? Inappropriate design. BTW Batteries do not always last a year even when installed fresh so expect randomly timed adrenaline rushes, Random alarms seem the nature of all the smoke alarms I've ever lived with and this unit does occasionally blast one out. Does not inspire confidence

These are fine, they do the job. However, when you put the battery in it goes through a setup where you can pick the room that it’ll be installed (so the alarm will say “there’s smoke in the living room”). Anyways, the setup volume is full blast alarm loudness. Why does the setup menu have to be so loud?! Even with ear plugs in, it’s still too loud

Bought this to replace a previous First Alert Battery Operated combined CO2 and Smoke Detector unit in our hallway that finally came to the end of it's "life". This one fits on the same base-bracket that was already installed on the ceiling, so that's great. Setting this up is easy, but be warned, IT IS MUCH LOUDER than the previous unit.

 You can also set up a "location" for the voice command alerts, so it'll bark at you about what location you pick, if any, if there's an alert. Most important, I'm hoping that this newer unit REALLY knows the difference between CO2 and steam from the kids bathroom just a few feet down the hall..

I found a review on Android Central that claimed this alarm connects to the wifi and sends you email alerts. I should have read more closely when I ordered it, because the information on the product on Amazon says nothing of the kind. I should have known that the price was too good for a unit that supposedly connects to the wifi. They seem good quality for what they are

I was mislead by a false review

 I had hired a person to dill them into the ceiling who brought his own ladder in January.

I not only wanted to get a smoke detector, but a carbon monoxide detector as well. This fit the bill as it is both. Works as expected.

This battery has been working well so far. I have the newer white version, with v2 firmware. I got it because I have an outlet attached CO/Propane detector (Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawk), which nobody makes a "smart" explosive gas detector for propane. I cannot speak to battery life, as the detector I have is hard-wired and not designed to run for long on battery (24-48 hrs

No major issues so far.

 I’d say only 2 out of 3 tests succeeded in "alarm ringing" notifications getting sent to my phones. (When they did go thru, they always sounded on both phones). A 67% success rate at detecting the alarm is pretty poor. - The battery only lasted two weeks before my alarm started chirping, even though the app thinks battery levels are good

 I’m replacing this with a regular 9V lithium. While having smart features is nice, reliability is far more important in a passive but extremely vital monitoring device like a smoke detector. The idea behind the product is promising, but I would stay away until they address these major issues.

It didn't do the one thing it promised to do in the video spot (no 4am chirps); and as a lithium battery, it didn't even last two months. I’m replacing this with a regular 9V lithium.
