 Another worry.. if they continue to give false alarms we may eventually be desensitized to react fast IF THERE REALLY IS A FIRE.  If it wasn't beyond the return window I would definitely send these back for replacements

 I instructed them to not come back while I went to see where the fire was. Didn't find anything. Alarms quit within about a minute and a half on their own. I thought well

Two false alarms in the last 3 days

 Overall, a good product and highly recommended in an older home where alarms aren't already interconnected by hardwire.

 The instructions claim the range of the radio alert signal is something like 100 feet, but I found it much shorter than that. I made sure to space the detectors no more than 25 feet apart when the signal has to go through walls. Any further and it wouldn't reliably signal the furthest away alarm when testing. Also the photoelectric sensing these alarms use is supposed to be less sensitive to false alarms, but we've already had steam from the shower set off the alarm in the hall, despite locating it away from the bathroom door

 This is nice when you have 8 of these going off in your two story house.  I have not placed any alarms in my kitchen, however one of these is in the adjacent room. Over the course of a year, I have had probably 2 times that the alarms have gone off from bad cooking. For the most part false alarms have not been an issue

. Because of this I have TWO wireless alarm systems in the house when I would really prefer to have them all be the same system..

  I will say that once these do go off, the silencing feature does seem to be very short lived. I wish that it would just shut up for at least 15 minutes --- I think you get less than 5 before they start screaming again.  I am docking this system 1 star because I think that the manufactures should provide both Photoelectric and Ionization alarms - Kidde only makes Ionization wireless alarms, and First Alert makes only Photoelectric wireless alarms.

My wife and I have owned 7 onelink smoke detectors and 4 onelink smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in our home. Even have one in the shed located about 75 yards from the house using a "bridge" designed to connect to the other detectors located in the house (Smartlinc insteon bridge for "OneLink" smoke detectors). We have owned these 9 years, some were added after the initial purchase. The first release of the brand had a low power design and all detectors were replaced by the manufacturer at no cost

 OneLink detectors run on AA batteries, some folks have complained on previous comments that they need to replace the batteries in them once a year which is a hassle. Oh, remember, the fire service reminds you to change your clocks in the fall (north east) and change your batteries in all detectors. So batteries need to be changed yearly with most detectors anyway. Even wired detectors have batteries in them and need to be replaced

This battery has been working well so far. I have the newer white version, with v2 firmware. I got it because I have an outlet attached CO/Propane detector (Kidde KN-COEG-3 Nighthawk), which nobody makes a "smart" explosive gas detector for propane. I cannot speak to battery life, as the detector I have is hard-wired and not designed to run for long on battery (24-48 hrs

No major issues so far.

 I’d say only 2 out of 3 tests succeeded in "alarm ringing" notifications getting sent to my phones. (When they did go thru, they always sounded on both phones). A 67% success rate at detecting the alarm is pretty poor. - The battery only lasted two weeks before my alarm started chirping, even though the app thinks battery levels are good

 I’m replacing this with a regular 9V lithium. While having smart features is nice, reliability is far more important in a passive but extremely vital monitoring device like a smoke detector. The idea behind the product is promising, but I would stay away until they address these major issues.

 After my experience, I would not trust the "smart" battery to let me know when something's wrong. It didn't do the one thing it promised to do in the video spot (no 4am chirps); and as a lithium battery, it didn't even last two months. I’m replacing this with a regular 9V lithium.
