I don't use this product all that often but it tends to get used for a minute or two every few days. I do not leave the product on very long and yet battery life drains in no time at all where the higher power lighting is available. I have a second one that I use at work and it's much the same. I may not use it for weeks at a time but it rapidly loses capacity to stay brightly lit

 All I can say is if you're after a robust, light, slim, rechargeable headlamp which does the job, it's ultra bright, it lasts as long as you want, this is definitely one to go for.  You can buy as extra, which is what I've got here, this is a completely different one, this is a 3500 battery which will actually last a lot longer. So we'll open this up and the best thing about this battery is, look at that, you can charge it separately, it's got it's own little USB port and it lights up blue and red, red when it's empty and blue when it's full and it's incredible. Fenix HL60R Headlamp Review

 It uses a Cree XM-L2T6 neutral white LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. So it has five brightness levels with the 950 lumens maximum and a red reading light. So let's go through those right now. It's also digitally regulated to maintain constant brightness

 Now when the headlamp is charging, the two red LEDs will flash simultaneously and a USB cable is included. Charging time is approximately four hours, although I don't usually allow my battery to go that low, so it usually takes a fraction of that time. When charging is completely done, the two red LEDs will be constant on. Now before I do the headlamp testing, I just want to mention that the headlamp comes with a limited lifetime guarantee from Phoenix Lighting US

The Best Rechargeable Headlamp I’ve Ever Used – Fenix HL60R Review

 While I was walking to the store I had it on high, so people could see me on the freeway, and then on the way back a couple gave me a ride back to my car, so I didn't have to use it. Dang this thing is bright! So bright, that I had to have it on the 2nd or 3rd setting to see what I was looking at while changing my alternator. It is a torch let me tell you! It took me about 45 min to change out the alternator, and away I went. It got a little hot, but wasn't uncomfortable, and the light didn't dim at all

The 121g listed in the product spec is without the required rechargeable battery.   With battery it’s more like 150g which to too heavy for my liking.  I’d sooner take a hit on lumins or battery life then the extra weight but to each their own.

I Really like the jewel buttons on there I Really like that because of like I say very often I just want a red light if I'm reading or whatever map reading and you're never getting at night. It doesn't mucking like fish, you know, so it's really nice like they kept that completely separate from the main unit in that way as well

 They say it's just the free gift where I have a couple quid like and you can kind of wear that on your wrist if you like. I do like my bands, it's one that's gonna wear it so that's cool. They do give you your batteries this runs off three triple A's I like triple a headlamp some torches. it's just so simple just just coming up at trees for it

 So straight away that's separate from the main light which is something I really liked I can kind of turn that off and all and gives you red lights. It does come with a red flash if you want it and then off. If you kind of leave it on like they're kind of give it a few seconds you can then just turn it straight off. Its got like a timer on it we you need to press it within a couple of seconds to get your strobe up

 I want something better than a crappy $5. The nicest one I ever had was REI and I think it was like almost $100, but that was a gift. I really can't justify spending more than $40 or something, especially because these are easy to lose and while the more expensive ones are definitely better, like, how much better can they actually be?  Here's what I like about this one: I like that there are separate buttons for red and white light. Some headlamps make you go through white lights before you get to red, which makes no sense, especially if you're using red to keep from messing up your night vision

  In summary I'd say the sudden shutoff is pretty annoying, but for the price, it's a satisfactory product and the 2 separate buttons, that *don't* turn on in your bag, is something I really appreciate in a headlamp.

Mostly good headlamp for the price

 The red LED setting is very bright compared to its peer headlamps and the fact that it has an independent switch for on/off is amazing -- I never understood why manufacturers would put a red LED option to preserve your night vision yet force you to toggle through the white light settings before you could get to the red setting. It has a high quality head band fabricated from elastic and nylon vs. the frizzy cotton or cheap nylon that appears to be so popular with the competition. I gave it four stars simply because the access to the battery compartment is a compression fitting vs
