HL60R is an extremely durable design and does have that aluminum casing and it is IPX8 rated.

I have done a lot of caving with armytek wizard, wizard pro, and fenix hl60r. My wife and I both worked as a cave guide for a few years and used these lights daily through squeezes and rappels, smashed against rocks, thrown in water around 2 C for photos etc... held up very well.

This headlamp is by far the brightest headlamp I’ve ever owned. Very durable and a full charge last hours. The one drawback is that it doesn’t turn on to the last setting you had it on. I bought a Fenix Hl60R for caving (1000 lumens turbo setting is awesome) and just use it for backpacking too, not exactly ultralight but it is indestructible and the battery lasts very long on medium.

I don't use this product all that often but it tends to get used for a minute or two every few days. Use a Fenix HL60R for a headlamp. A bit heavy but not too bad when used with a hardhat and retention clips.

For strobe/marker light, check out the Nitecore NU05! It's awesome (red light strobe as well as white) and it's tiny.

Fenix makes a fantastic product. You always get what you pay for. Bright. Dependable. And many different levels to suit your need. Be careful if it’s on for a while though as it will get hot!!
