Petzl Actik Core

Fwiw I prefer to use red light so I don’t blind myself and everybody else in camp. I’m a big fan of petezl headlamps due to light weight, rechargeable battery and relatively low cost. The Actik Core is my present goto. Like I said tho, I rarely use the white bulb.

I use it 5 days a week at work (I’m a logger and use it every morning before the sun comes up to trim my loaded truck). It rides in the door pocket of my big truck unless I’m headed to the river or camping. It holds a charge for a couple weeks with my daily usage. I’ve never had it let me down and the headband still has plenty of “stretch” if it broke tomorrow I would buy a replacement.

I use a Petzl Core Actik....rechargeable and I carry a spare as I do a ton of night hiking. The high setting of 450 lumens/300 ft has been handy for off trail braided river crossings at night.

I really like the Petzl Actik Core. It can take Petzl's core rechargeable battery, but also run oof of AAA batteries. It's relatively lightweight and have been bombproof for the 3 or so years I have had it.
