 There are just SO many options for creating tones, and the phone app provides a very quick and easy process to pick the parts and fine tune them. A newbie like me was able to create all kinds of unique sounds; I imagine an expert would have a field day on this thing.  Also, its loud. Very loud

 It made me commit even more to the art that I was already infatuated with.  The GTX has has 200 tone presets built in, and I haven't even gone through them all yet, but I went ahead and experimented with creating my own preset. I made one specifically for Californication, and I used (once again) a '65 Princeton with a little bit of reverb and the bass jacked up.

Obviously, my own low skill level factored into how bad it sounded, but after messing around with my buddy's much larger, MUCH pricier tube amp, I knew that even a neophyte like myself could get a better sound with better hardware, and that my Strat deserved much better.  Naturally, the LAVA was fine on its own, but before getting the Mustang GTX my poor Strat was stuck with a dinky 10-watt Ibanez amp that had a... demoralizing sound

Tons of fun for any skill level - Bluetooth is iffy

As for amps, I'd advise against using anything that comes in a starter pack because they pretty much universally sound like ass. Given the range of tones you want, you'd probably be best served with a practice amp. The best options on that front seem to be the Boss Katana 50, the Yamaha THR10, the Blackstar ID:Core 10, and the Fender Mustang LT25. None of them will sound as good as a tube amp or expensive digital modelers, but they still sound pretty good for the money and they come built in with a bunch of effects

Hey, I've played acoustic for 4/5 years and am concidering getting my first electric. I don't have tons of money so I don't want anything too expensive as I also mainly do it just for fun. I was concidering the IJRX20 Ibanez set but aren't convinced.
Any recommendations? I'd also need an amp and cable.

 One of the other buttons is the tap tempo, so if you use time-based effects like a delay, you can adjust how long they go to sync up with the music you're playing by using the tap tempo and pressing the button twice. If you hold down that tap tempo, it actually turns into a built-in tuner to get you in tune real quick. I mentioned that the LT-25 is extremely versatile. It's no joke

 And now, for something entirely different, I go to the preset Thrash Overkill to get

 Another preset I like very much is called the U2 Anthem.

 I'll let you decide what it sounds like, but to me, it's got a great atmospheric delay.

 You can even push the boundaries with the LT-25 and get really outrageous.

 I'm going to switch over to the Octabot and show you with a cool octave effect.

 You can kind of stretch out and do stuff that almost sounds like a synthesizer.

 It has an additional 20 presets built in.

 You can carve a sound that's uniquely you.

 So let me show you where the additional 20 presets are.

 When you go to the Save button and select it, you'll notice at the bottom it says Replace.

 When you select that, you'll notice it actually has 50 presets.

 You'll have the original 30 that you already have on the amplifier, but as you get past

 it, from 31 to 50 are additional presets with different models and different effects that
