 but I'm not gonna be playing in Ultra today because this is the American original 60s model and I chose it because it's pretty much the classic setup for what the Jazz Master built its foundation on. You got to jazz master pickups in the center. These are not 2p 90s. They are single coils designed specifically for the Jazz Master just a little bit wider, more mellow pickups

 This tone and this volume and this toggle switch I have nothing to do with it. So you're working specifically with this neck pickup. but I think you'll hear it's a it's a much more rhythm based, kind of dark in tone and these two rollers right here become your volume and your tone control respectively. So for this, you can do a lot of very pretty balanced cord stuff, or you can kind of mess with that tone and get some funkier tone rolled off leads going

 One of my favorite players of all time. Nels Cline In Wilco plays this guitar all over. He uses it very famously on the solo for Impossible' Germany which just has one of the coolest stones I've ever heard in my life. but you know you can hear those kind of rounded, warm mellow tones that you might associate with a jazz player

How to Use the Fender Jazzmaster | Alamo Music Tone Profile

Beautiful guitar, don’t get me wrong, however, I’m giving this 3 stars for the horrendous set up it came with. Intonation was wack, truss rod was wack, saddles were wack, a string actually unwound from the bridge when I used the whammy bar. The fret ends were also very sharp. My verdict is that if you’re a little hands on and know how to fix these minor issues it’s a good buy, but for beginners or ones that are scared to work on a guitar you’ll have to pay for a professional setup which can range from 50-100$ so you make the call if you wanna spend the money

I thought it was a bit overpriced with a £1000 starting bid considering everything, and I wasn't in a position to go and collect it, and it was relisted a number of times and never sold so I thought I would wait until the seller reduced the price a bit, and didn't buy it. Then the listing ended and it never went back up again. I still slightly regret not buying it, because those old sixties Fender offsets and student guitars are just *so* cool, but they're pretty uncommon on this side of the Atlantic.

Looking for a little inspiration, classing myself as a new player, returning after a 15 year hiatus since I last put any real effort into learning and seem to be in the right place mentally where I'm back into it, and loving it.

Problem is I want all the gear, but have no idea. I'd love to hear what people aspire to own, any style/genre, any price, it just needs to be something special, extra points for why...

It also kind of gave me a slight frame of reference to know what to expect and made me realize just how high-tech this thing really is. So I've bean wanting to start playing for years but have bean putting it off for this and that reason, Im done procrastinating and want to buy my first to start playing. I've bean a drummer most of my life but know nothing about guitars really. Any advice on what should be my first would be super helpful


The main brands I've looked at are Gibson Ibanez Charvel and PRS


I like avenged sevenfold and as well as bands like plini and polyphia if that helps at all and I know I would be along way away from playing songs from them as a beginner but I figured I would throw that in there if it matters at all lol thank you.

PRS SE Custom 24-08 Guitars - New Pickups, More Switches & MORE Tone!

 Now the bridge pickup and I'll start off as a single coil. One thing, uh, you'll also notice uh with these steel molded trims. uh, like you would find on a Ce. There's a really great twang that you get from the steel trim

 So looking over the rest of the features and specs of the Sc Custom 24, we've got the Prs design tuners. It is a maple neck in the classic wide thin neck carve rosewood fingerboard 24 frets obviously that's where the name comes from. Bird inlays: It's the Prs patented molded trim mahogany body. It's a maple cap, but there's also a very highly figured maple veneer

 If you're familiar with the Paul's Se that came out that had a car that was brand new to the Se line, this now features that same top carve. It more closely follows the lines and contours of the classic Prs core violin carve. So looking over the rest of the features and specs of the Sc Custom 24, we've got the Prs design tuners. It is a maple neck in the classic wide thin neck carve rosewood fingerboard 24 frets obviously that's where the name comes from

 I'll leave it as a single coil. You still get that twang [Applause] going into the bridge as a humbucker where all the money's made, When you've got gain on both for single notes, doesn't matter where you play on the neck, it's still really full and big. It never gets thin sounding like a lot of bridge pickups do. And of course, for chords [Music] sounds amazing

The SE Custom 24 | PRS Guitars

This is a great guitar. I've owned it for a year. If you're want a PRS for under $1000, this is what you're looking for. The craftsmanship of the Custom 24 is outstanding

 The frets are perfect, the guitar itself is very ergonomic and comfortable, the fret tangs are under the fretboard so you are almost never going to get any sharp edges. The fretboard is rounded which is a great attention to detail and very appreciated. The body of the guitar has a natural wood binding peaking through and looks great. The playability is very strong

 I plan on getting locking tuners soon and hoping that'll fix it. The other issue I have is the pickup. The neck pickup I don't mind but the bridge pickup is just awful to my ear. It's very muddy and sometimes I can't play it for more than 20 minutes with it

 If you're want a PRS for under $1000, this is what you're looking for. The craftsmanship of the Custom 24 is outstanding. The frets are perfect, the guitar itself is very ergonomic and comfortable, the fret tangs are under the fretboard so you are almost never going to get any sharp edges. The fretboard is rounded which is a great attention to detail and very appreciated
