 Hey, this is Reed's Reviews. Today I'm going to look at this Canyon by Electroharmonix. I do have to admit this pedal was a little more complicated than I thought. It took a little bit more to figure it out, but at the same time it's pretty powerful

 And that's where, you know, it's nice to have presets and to be able to change between those. So that's kind of the negative. I don't necessarily recommend it for something that you're going to be relying upon if you want to switch between the different sounds. If you want to just get the perfect delay sound and then you're going to stick with it, then yeah, I would recommend it

 I know there's a big brother to this, the Grand Canyon. I'll have to do a review on that to see the benefits of that. But as far as the quality and the sound and the features, definitely a thumbs up. As far as the ability to save your settings for the various different effects, it's not there

Canyon Delay & Looper | Electro-Harmonix | Pedal Review

 Hey guys, hope you're good. So today we're going to be looking at this really cool pedal, it's the Canyon and it's a delay and looper.

 So this pedal not only has 10 types of delay, it also is a looper pedal as well. Crazy, I know.

 I'm so impressed with this pedal actually, I'll tell you what, it's so inspiring playing this.

 Once you start messing about this pedal and finding out what it's all about, you can create some really ambient and magical, I hate to say magical, but it's a great word, magical kind of sounds and it's great.

 Let's check out the reverb setting. Supposedly if you turn down the feedback you get a pure kind of reverb sound, so let's do that.

 So that's without... let's put this on. Let's try playing something, I don't know.

 The one thing I love about this pedal, it's so versatile, how nice does that sound?

 Let's try putting on the feedback and see what happens.

 So let's now check out the echo which is a digital delay, so it just copies whatever you play.

 Some will say I committed the ultimate sin of playing that riff on this, but...

 So let's check out the modulated delay which is supposed to be similar to the echo. It is a bit warmer, supposedly.

 You can have so much fun with this pedal.

 Let's look at the reverse delay of Echo's playback in reverse.

 I can't believe how versatile this little pedal is. It's ridiculous.

 So the reverse setting gives you lots of psychedelic kind of sounds which might sound really cool live.

 Okay, so let's look at the octave delay.

 With the octave delay, every note you play, the repeated note will be up an octave, then up another octave and so on.

 So it's like loads of cool cascading notes.

 It makes you so creative having such a cool pedal with so many options.

 It's almost like being in the Scottish Highlands.

 Yeah, the octave is probably one of my favorites so far that I've looked at. I love how many cool sounds you can come up with that.

 Right, so let's look at the Deluxe Memory Man next.

 So this is emulating one of their other pedals, supposedly. Analog Shizzle.

 Okay, this pedal straight away makes me miss being in bands because this is the kind of thing that gets you excited about writing some really crazy music

 So let's have a look at the Multi Tap Delay.

 You can pretend you're really good at tremolo picking. Some will tell me off in the comments section. You know you're there.

 Oh, that's cool. So whatever setting I have sounds great with swells. So all I'm doing is these.

 And then we put the effect on and sound awesome.

 So now let's check out the Shimmer Effect or the Shimmer Delay.

 This comes across in my recording as good as it sounds here in real life because it sounds beautiful.

 So let's check out the Sample and Hold Effect.

 This mode senses guitar plucks and repeats them indefinitely. That's cool.

 Until another pluck is sensed. In this mode the feedback knob controls the canyons sensitive to the guitar pluck.

 Okay, so this is cool. So if you turn your feedback up for this mode, play a chord.
