Tracking

Not quite there yet

The biggest issue, and the reason I sent it back, was the stickiness of the trackball movement. There was nothing I could do to get it to roll smoothly from a stopped state, it would always jerk, making precise movements impossible. Not only was this not good for gaming, but even something as simple as copy and paste were difficult to use with this mouse.

Buttons

Good, but software could use some finesse

As you move back on the button the force changes to where it won’t click at all. This does tend to slow me down when working, as I have to find the sweet spot to click. The thing is, that is just opposite of the so-called Button #5. The rear of the button is easier to click than the front, go figure

Not as ergonomic as Logitec track ball mice.

The middle scroll and button works fine. Good grooves. No complaints. The main two buttons work fine, except again I tend to pull my hand up farther to make it more comfortable on my wrist which can make the buttons not click if I move to far up

ahhhhh Dear designers, the reason the MS explorer & the logitech trackman worked for different hand sizes was because it allowed the hand to curl around the device more like your smaller version rather than forcing the hand flat & spread. The larger exposed ball is almost perfection but if it weren't recessed into the body of the device it would also help make it easier to use for a wider range of hand sizes. I cannot strongly enough express my gratitude that this company is trying. Please please please - keep trying

Good shape but it gets too warm to feel comfortable

Not as soft as the M570's. That is also my perception and preference. Many people like to feel the clicks while scrolling. PROS: Very comfortable shape, even for small hands

Size

Made for Asian hands

As odd as this sounds, my hand is too big for this trackball. The heel of my palm sits at the very edge of the palm rest, and I have to do an awkward claw type grip to position my fingers over the ball and buttons. I'm sure this would be very comfy with a smaller hand, but for me it was just not usable. For reference, my hand is about 7

Almost, But Not Quite

Usually it isn't, but when it is, it's only a limited run. The struggle is real, and this Perixx is an apparent newcomer. This trackball is larger than the tiny size that Logitech has so fervently embraced, but not as large as the "original" models I discussed earlier. Still, it is larger, and I'm not stuck sacrificing a USB port for wireless connectivity that I never needed
