Elac Debut Reference DBR62 vs Fluance Ai61

These speakers continue to impress me. These are the first bookshelf speakers that I can honestly don't need a sub for music use. I do have a nice SVS SB2000 Pro but I'm finding that compared to all my other bookshelf speakers, I'm turning it way down with these. With my rp600m's I'd use around -14db on the sub, with these Elac Reference I'm using -24db

I suggest getting a reasonable set of powered speakers, like the Kanto YU6, or Fluance AI61, or Audioengine A5+, then also picking up a subwoofer. Not so you can shake the room, but so you can increase the gain on the low end for lower volumes. I listen at “reasonable” levels in my city apartment, and don’t crank the volume, so it’s nice to be able to fill in the lower frequencies.

Went to a local electronics store, went through some blu rays, didn't find anything nice, thought i go by the audio equiment, some nice av-receivers, some bluetooth speaker - and then...several speakers for a lot less that normal

I love having the super lows of my sub, but I feel like if I change my crossover to let in higher frequencies it gets muddy (cheap sub with big port) so I want some speakers that can really respond quickly and really kick. Ideally at about 120w a channel. For reference I tried some Fluance Ai61's thinking they would do it, but I was thoroughly unimpressed and now I'm wary of bookshelf claims. Or if you have sub recommendations that can do this I'm open to alternatives

What you'll get with the DBR62 is a very flat and neutral overall sound with seriously impressive bass extension for their size, a wonderful midrange (that is missing from many other speakers that prefer to showcase how high and low they can go while leaving you with a U shaped frequency response), and not to mention sweet delicate highs. The DBR62s also produce a very holographic image rather than giving you a locked-in sweet spot (like my old Bronze 2 did). Listen to a showcase track like Bubbles from Yosi Horikawa and you'll understand. I also auditioned the Elac Uni-Fi UB5 and preferred the DBR62 due to an overall more neutral response
