This is the crunchiest setting the plumes has to offer. When played through a clean amp, it’ll deliver a reasonable facsimile of that classic black and gold British valve amp tone. If you already set your amp Dirty, using this mode will make it filthy. Mode 2 is clean boost mode. This eliminates the soft clipping diodes altogether and leaves you with straight opamp drive. This is perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front or driving The preamp of an already overdriven amp into tasteful breakup territory. Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement similar to the stock Screamer but with more output and clean clarity; The tone some people describe as “transparent”. it’s almost as if your clean tone is blended in with a slightly less clean tone, ya know? Using this mode gives a warmer low-end response and lower output. It’s less hard on your amp and your ears. It’s a classic pleasant tone The whole band can enjoy. Not enough for you? We’ve also improved the way the classic tone control operates while still leaving it familiar enough to keep you warm and comfortable. It’s still a safe space, No worries in here. It’s now useful through the whole range. The low end is big and clear, and the high end is bright and cutting without killing the mids. The Earthquaker Plumes is not your granddad's overdrive. Although it has screamer influences and a similar topology, the Plumes expands on both frequency response and gain by swapping out the sacred components for more interesting variety, and the result is a breath of fresh air in the overdrive world

 I’m super pleased with my purchase. This overdrive just might be the last overdrive you will need, no hype about it, real talk here. It’s that good.

This pedal “Plumes” Is excellent and high-quality, as soon as I received it I plugged it in I own several overdrive pedals, this one is the best out of all except my Mesa flux five which cost 3 times the amount of the Plumes. It spanks my Ibanez TS9 or the Joyo UD. I’m super pleased with my purchase. This overdrive just might be the last overdrive you will need, no hype about it, real talk here

Excellent Overdrive pedal without question.

 This is kind of the heavier mode, or what I like to use is the heavier mode on these plumes, and I've adjusted the gain a little bit. It's up to about more like 1 o'clock, and the level's also a little bit higher, more like 10 o'clock. So what I like about this is even though the gain is much higher in this mode, I'm still maintaining the tonal integrity and the harmonic integrity of what I'm playing, which I really like, but also getting this great analog, overdriven sound that's really natural and feels like it's coming from a tube amp instead of coming from a pedal. So I'll play a little bit for you that way

 To the right is the boost volume, you can either use it as a clean boost by itself, which is lovely, or choose your own by yourself, or them both. That little switch here puts it pre or post the effect as well, which is pretty cool. It's not as crazy expensive as you might think as well. It's extremely well priced

That’s one of my rigs and it absolutely roars. It’s what an electric guitar is supposed to sound like, it’s what I hear when I think of the electric guitars

Personally I'm a sucker for those 70's treble boosted tones, think Blackmore, Rory Gallagher and Page.

Something about that sound just makes it so versatile, plus you can really hear the articulation of their playing with the natural character of the overdrive.

I'll  start, i'm a young student working with a Squier Bullet strat(HSS) and a  Katana Mini amp. It isn't much but it plays well and gets the job done.  I'm looking into getting a different strat or maybe a mustang. I like  to play a lot of Nirvana and Ramones and am trying my and at writing my  own music, which isn't great but we all start somewhere, right?

I am not saying that I can play guitar any better - I am not saying I can't. But when the guitar goes from sounding like tring tring to trounwowow makes my random plucks seem like they were intentional. Everything sounds better - the grr of a fuzz becomes a growl. A reverb sounds less like a church more like a cave with stalagtites and a wall of limestone with water dripping in the far distance

There is a reason TS-9 is this good

 Well hello Captain Obvious I think the name gave it away, but the point is it's a tube screamer. It works and sounds and feels exactly like a tube screamer shrunk down which is great for pedal boards. Obviously give you plenty of room on your pedal board. and the way they got away with that is that there's no nine volt battery option so you have to always plug it in

 but especially, it's especially great if you're running a distorted amp or you're running another pedal and you want to drive the pedal really hard. That level control is perfect for that. And of course, the gain control Overdrive control cleans up really nicely at lower levels. and as you turn up the overdrive obviously it's a little thicker

 Today I'm playing a Fender American Standard Stratocaster through a Fender Princeton Reverb amp and here we are with the Tube Screamer mini bypassed and here it is engaged. same classic tubescreamer sound and I'll even mess with the control so you can hear we're listening to hear hears with the tone down. And then here's the tone back centered and there's a center detent for it as well. And here's the level control I Always like it slightly above unity game if you know just to drive the amp a little harder
