 The DW 9000 single pedal, and my DW 9002 pedals have never failed me. I purchased two new Roland KT-10 pedals to use with my electric kit. I intended on putting KT-10's next to my DW 9002 pedals. After playing double KT-10's and the DW 9000 single pedals with decent triggers, my verdict is the DW 9000 single pedal and trigger

 -------------- Criticism Nothing is perfect, including DW hardware. I would like them to product some pedals with a smaller form factor to enable them to be placed side by side. On your main double pedal its hard to juxtaposition the pedals. This is not a design flaw, but I would like DW to use their "braniac" power to create a double pedal that is recessed to allow the pedals to be placed closer together

 Now one thing I didn't like about the SJC and also the previous DW spec pedals was that it had Velcro here and Velcro here. Now the penny sort of dropped for me at the last gig when I took my SJC pedal off the kit and I just couldn't get it off. It was just like, as I said in a previous video, it was like the Duva at the Premier Inn and I was trying to adjust my pedal as well, half way through the set and it was just really difficult because the Velcro had got it so secured that I just couldn't do it but again this is a great feature and of course you can spike it down as well but yeah just love this design as well that DW have come up with. And also of course with any pedal you get yourself a nice bag as well which is really really nice because again it's a lot easier to carry around, you don't have to worry about buying a case or you know basically you can just have a nice bag for it

DW 9000 Single Pedal Review

 What's up guys and in today's video I'm going to be talking about a new purchase of

 mine which is the DW9000 Series Single Bass Drum Pedal.

 So around about a month ago I did a review on the SJC Foundation Series X pedal which

 I still advocate that for the money the SJC Foundation pedal is absolutely fantastic but

 I just felt that I needed an upgrade on what I currently had and of course the DW9000 pedal

 is just what I would say the flagship of all pedals.

 So I'm going to talk about what I really like about the pedal, here it is.

 Of course everybody has probably seen these pedals, they are absolutely fantastic, they

 are just so nice, I mean look at that, absolutely brilliant, I literally just did that and that's

 exciting but as you can see this is so well made.

 So what I'm going to do is I am going to jump into some of the features that I really like

 Of course you can pretty much go anywhere on YouTube and find a review on this pedal

 but I thought I would just give my own personal opinion of it and what I love about it so

 So the first thing I absolutely love about this pedal is the Tri Pivot Toe Clamp.

 Now this is an absolute genius idea so the whole idea of it is that if you go onto an

 uneven floor space you can clip this on to your bass drum and effectively it shouldn't

 move, you shouldn't really have the effect of when it lifts so that is a great feature

 on this pedal and you know you go to a gig and sometimes if there is an uneven floor

 space or something that is a bit awkward this is absolutely brilliant.

 The other thing I really like about this pedal is the rubber bass plate.

 Now one thing I didn't like about the SJC and also the previous DW spec pedals was that

It works well and is built like a tank, but the DW3000 is just too heavy for me to carry to jobs (I'm getting old). The item description is incorrect that the Item Weight is 2.2 pounds, it weights 5.6 pounds

 So that was just an example of the quicker hits. This pedal goes through those really well actually and as with most pedals you can adjust how tight you want this to feel and this particular pedal it's down here and that just determines how tight you want the spring and the chain action and it seems to be set up as is pretty well for me. I didn't really have to adjust anything but the great thing about this pedal is it can be very customized. You can adjust the footboard and pretty much every aspect of it if you wanted to

 So we're going to move this pedal around. Very solid bass, it's a very, very solid and sturdy pedal and it has the clamp right here where it goes to your bass drum. Another feature about this pedal is the adjustable clamp is on the outside of the pedal. Sometimes you have to go, you have to reach your hand below the footboard to actually tighten that and this one is on the outside

 So I'm going to show you the reaction time of this pedal with some of those quicker double hits. So that was just an example of how to play a double pedal with a single pedal. So that was just an example of the quicker hits. This pedal goes through those really well actually and as with most pedals you can adjust how tight you want this to feel and this particular pedal it's down here and that just determines how tight you want the spring and the chain action and it seems to be set up as is pretty well for me
