This is Dr. Martens classic 3 eye shoe. The second style that Dr. Martens made, the shoe was crafted for industry, made rebellious by generations of non-conformists. 

 Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

 All right So if we start from the top, um, basically we can see you know The premium leather I have my shoes shine because I love my shoes shiny noticeably, you can see the yellow thread that seals off this nice leather to the To the silicone or plastic rubber Oh rubber. This is a size 9 a brown sort of interior Overall I'd say the shoe is very comfy the laces they're um They're sort of circular

 I love it so far. I Haven't worn it for long periods of time. So be wary of that I don't know if they heard over time most likely they will just as any other shoe would without any proper support, so Yeah Overall, it's a clean shoe I definitely recommend anyone who purchases it to buy a size below So let's say if you're a half size, I was a nine and a half I actually bought this in a nine and there's more than enough room and If you want you could if you're at the store You could consider going even one and a half sizes below if you want a snug fit But my recommendation is if you are a half size go down a half the size And if you're a nine or a ten consider going down one hole size Unless you don't have that option and you're buying online then just can just stay with your normal option But yeah Overall a great shoe. Daily Questions - January 25, 2021

 Martens 1461 has to be one of my favorite shoes in my rotation of footwear. I've had these for about a year and a half now and they still look really new, they feel new as well. I picked these up for about $120 and I think that they're worth every single penny. I've been making really good use of these shoes

In terms of the fit and feel of the shoes, I would have to overall say that they are pretty comfortable. The soles are made out of air cushion, that's why when you wear these, the soles feel very like cushiony, very airy

 They're super durable, versatile, and they're one workhorse of a shoe. I really appreciate the Dr. Martens 1461 because of its versatility. Wearing these shoes, it could really uplift your look and it could bring elegance to your look as well

 I know the price may be a little steep to other people, like how I felt, but if you're looking for some timeless piece that will last you many years and for $126, you can't go wrong investing in this one, ok? I can't really pinpoint any negative stuff about it except that you know it hurt my little pinky toe. Aside from that, if you have a budget for it, go ahead and treat yourself with some Doc Martens 1461 Oxford shoes. Well, that's my quick review of the Doc Martens 1461. Hope this video gave you guys some insight of what it looks like and what to expect

 Next, we are going to pair with some relaxed pants and throw on some oversized t-shirt. This is the most common outfit I've seen other people wear. By the way, I never actually wear this outside because relaxed pants are not my style. However, by the look on this one, I think it gives me enough confidence to rock this outside

 It's light in your feet, did not get any of those heel blisters that you normally get from any other leather shoes or dress shoes. However, after that one hour walk, I experienced a little discomfort around my pinky toes. Other than that, it looks so stylish that I got compliments from left and right and I felt that little airwear cushion technology that gives comfort to my feet. I do say that it requires breaking in, but you know, it will get better over time, just like other leather shoes

 Of course, you can see their yellow signature stitching around, which is well crafted by the way. Heels or the outsole is built with a Goodyear welt, aka their famous air-cushion sole which they call airwear to get that bouncy feel when you are walking. It got the thread pattern for anti-slip and has the grooved edges by the sole, which is another signature design from Doc Martens. As for sizing, it comes in full size so there's no half size, so be mindful with that

Dr. Martens 1461 Oxford Shoes Review - A Classic Timeless Shoes

I had a previous pair of basic Dr. Marten oxfords that were made of synthetic leather, and they were quite comfortable and broke in very quickly. The model 1461 is made of very sturdy leather and the toe box is more narrow than on the synthetic pair. I ordered the same size as the previous, synthetic pair, 11 D, but should have ordered a half size or full size larger, I suppose

 The leather is cheap and cracking, the shoes are falling apart and the stitching is coming out. Buy from someone else.

First, J. Crew lists these as wing tips. They're not. They're longwings. Anyways, these went on deep sale recently, so I decided to take a punt on them. I figured they'd be relatively low quality, but probably worth the $80 or so bucks. At the very least, I figured they'd be decent beaters to wear to work in shitty weather and I wouldn't care about messing them up. As long as they were comfortable and looked decent, I was game. 

**Sizing:**

Sizing was my biggest worry. They recommended a half size down from regular shoe size, but that very rarely means a half size down from brannock. I'm a 10.5 brannock and wear 10s in GS Leo Last (though, the ones pictured at 10.5s), 10s in Alden's Barrie, and 9.5 in most Vibergs. I played it safe and went with the 10.5 here. They fit quite well. A 10 likely wouldn't been doable, but pretty tight even with thin socks. These are probably a *bit* loose as the heel slips (tough blisters incoming), but I think as my foot settles into the bed, they'll be great.   


I've included my best amateur effort at a last comparison in the album. These are notably more narrow than GS and Alden. 

**Quality Impressions:**

The construction is actually quite good. The welt joints are clean and I don't see any notable stitching defects or anything like that. I was actually impressed by the triple stitching throughout the longwing patterns. The leather soles are slick for now, but they'll scrape up and work fine. The welting is nice and even with not issues that I can see either (maybe you all can). 

The biggest downside--one I expected--is the leather. It's certainly below Grant Stone quality. Probably more on par with Johnston &amp; Murphy. It's advertised as "italian leather upper," and sure, that may be, but it's a bit plasticy. I'm hopeful it'll wear in over time, but I'm not crossing my fingers. Despite this textural annoyance (and not really one for $80), the coloring is nice. There's some depth there, but not splotching or other defects that I can see. 

**Conclusions:**

Honestly, these aren't bad for $80. I'd pull the trigger on GS seconds before snagging these again, but for what they are, I like them just fine. Probably not something I'd actually resole unless the leather ends up aging really well. I'll probably get a toppy put on and wear them until they're simply unwearable. Hopefully that takes quite a few years...
