The panel I got did not have any major backlight bleed. There was a bit of a noticeable IPS glow in the bottom left corner, but it was not any worse than other IPS panels that I've seen. Unfortunately, although it has great peak brightness in HDR to make highlights pop and displays a wide color gamut, it has a low contrast ratio. Its edge-lit local dimming feature performs terribly, meaning its HDR performance is a bit limited. I spent a lot of time, in fact. For the first time ever (literally), I bought a color calibration tool and used it with a professional providing guidance to ensure I correctly followed each step. Not even the color calibrator is able to make Dell 27" Gaming Monitor S2721DGF color-accurate! Not for work, not for gaming, not for casual activities. There is no height, no angle, no setting that resolves my issue

Overall, no regrets with the purchase. If they could do a firmware update to get rid of that annoying prompt to change input to Thunderbolt, then this would be an easy 5 stars. Til then, I'll continue to complain about it. It was a very clear project management fail, and they should remedy that at some point in the near ish future

Personally, I'd prefer the fast response times over deep blacks, but those that game mostly in the dark might be put off by the contrast and also IPS ...
