So let's get to the footage of me loading up these restricted mags and then I'll come back and give you guys my first mag impression. Now unfortunately my friend who loaned me this gun lives in one of those states so I only have 10 round mags for this whole video. There's gonna be a lot of reloading

 This coupled with the high beaver tail, undercut trigger guard, and the overall weight of the gun should keep the Shadow 2 shooting pretty smooth. A lot of that weight comes from the all-metal frame where you will also find features like the adjustable extended mag release. This release is swappable and it has three different settings to keep it where it works best for the shooter. There is some very sleek texturing and knurling all around the grips and since it is a full-size gun almost anyone should be able to get a pretty good grip on it

 Starting from the top down you will find a red fiber optic front post sight coupled with an adjustable black serrated rear, always a win in my book. The slide has deep serrations both front and rear and the whole profile is contoured keeping a majority of the mass centered with the shooter's hand.  So it is a double action pull, and then the slide cycles, and then you have a single action pull that is much lighter. And the reason I bring that up is because if you keep the hammer all the way down, like if you were to use this as a carry gun, as some of you crazy cats like to do, please don't carry it with the hammer all the way down. At least put it into quarter cock mode like that, because if the gun falls and lands on the hammer with the hammer fully decocked, the inertia from such a heavy frame can cook off the round in the chamber and send a round up. Before you can put an optic on the gun, you have to buy an optics plate

 If I go back to carry optics division, this very well might be the gun that I end up competing with. There are so many holster options and everything else, but more important than that, like the gun is legitimately very, very easy to shoot well. It returns from recoil from well. It is super accurate

 So all of the information that I'm gonna share with you is actually accurate. Just be careful who you accept competition advice from because it's an easy way to get disqualified or potentially bumped into open division. So you didn't hear me say that this was an IDPA competition gun, and the reason for that is it's just too darn heavy because this bad boy is gonna weigh well over the weight limit for IDPA. Unless you cut on this thing with a gunsmith, it's not going to make weight, and that's a shame because this gun is super pleasant to shoot

CZ Shadow 2 OR - Optics Ready... Optics Capable? Updated for Carry Optics

 So the reason it swings forward like that is there's a little coiled spring inside the frame right there. Those do wear out. If you're just going to sit around and just dry fire the gun and click, click, click over and over again, that spring will heat up and eventually it will snap. Now a good replacement interval is about 10,000 rounds if you're not going to do heavy double action dry fire

 The other piece, and they actually improve this over the old shadow designs of it, the shadow ones is the slide stop. The slide stop is designed to fail. It is a sacrificial piece. On the old shadows, they would last between about 10 and 15,000 rounds

 The safety is fully ambidextrous if you were left handed and wanted to use it as a single action gun. You have that option available to you. The mag catch I believe is swappable and they have a button on the mag button that allows you to adjust the angle of the button in one of three positions to get it just so so that you can reach the mag release without breaking your grip on the pistol. My favorite feature of the Shadow 2 is the checkering on the front strap and the back strap of the gun

 So if you're somebody who reloads their own ammunition, be sure and plunk test the rounds into the barrel of your CZs. You can do it. But within the hammer down condition, if the hammer is all the way down and it falls on the hammer, that's enough force to make the gun go off. So if you insist on carrying a 46 ounce pistol, pretty, pretty please make sure you put the hammer in quarter cock right there so that the hammer does not contact the firing pin

 For $200 this is the best budget gun the price of a high point and it probably performs very similar to a Glock 26 I'm actually going to do a Glock 26 comparison to this because I'm actually incredibly impressed at the speed accuracy and reliability and overall quality of an incredibly cheap gun from a company that I've had a lot of lemons from previously. I did not expect this gun to be this good and I didn't even honestly think it was going to be possible to make a gun this good for the price that it is so if you want a fairly cheap gun for basically everything if you're just looking for your first gun or if you're looking for a new carry gun that you want to be disposable you're looking for a truck gun if you're looking for a gun and you only want to spend $150 bucks man this is this is hard to beat.  Now though the magazine release works extremely well the magazine injection is a positive I love that so you're never not going to have to worry about stripping magazines most of the time that is to do with actually pretty high quality magazines as well. But the slide release is kind of a bitch in all honesty if you're going to use it you got to put a lot of pressure down on it it's going to be a lot harder to use than something like a Glock or an M&P but take what you can get for 200 bucks still no problem at all you can always come over the top. Slide durations are very very deep and usable which is really nice you can even go to the front and press check if you want to it's got little indents here which help you out with that so if you're into press checks that's pretty cool. It's got a thumb I don't know what you want to call that a memory pad so it reminds you to keep your thumb out of the way of the slide it also reminds you to keep your finger out of the trigger guard as well that would be really really good for newer shooters help develop good habits

 Kind of think of it as a really cheap G26X. What would you use it for? Well personally I would use it for concealed carry but the size of it itself actually can flex into a couple different categories, especially considering the price of this pistol, anywhere from $150 to $200. You could buy this gun for extremely cheap, you could carry it all day and come home and then you could put a light on it and use it as a nightstand gun and you could have pretty much all of your pistol needs taken care of by a $150 purchase. The big question is, is it reliable? That's the big question for most handguns, well most guns in general for defensive use, but especially for a Taurus gun in my opinion

 The take down on the pistol is relatively easy here is the take down levers takes down very similar to a Glock. The manual safety on it which I didn't use throughout the entire testing is still very easy to use very similar to a very low pro 1911 style safety and you can even ride it if you want as long as you be careful and not ride that slide release right in front of it. It is a very good design in my opinion I've seen a lot worse safeties on the market on a lot higher quality of guns. It has a light rail here so again can flex into home defense fairly easy all you got to do is put the light on it you can even carry it with the light if you want to

Taurus G2C 9mm: The Best Budget Gun

But I’ll tell you one thing, it’s surprisingly reliable and accurate enough to hit center mass in a decent group. I’ve had the XD 40, XDS 45, Taurus g2c and a few others and this one has held up just as well or better.

 I had a little taurus g2c in 9mm, and now own a full size colt 1911 in .45. The larger .45 is far more pleasant to shoot, not only because it is 3x the price, but the weight of the gun makes it more of a gentle push with recoil vs the snappy jerk of the lighter 9mm

Now, I’ve been looking at .22s, because they’re cheaper, and frankly, they don’t leave my arm wanting to fall off. But my issue comes from that I just seem to get treated weirdly or pressure for “heavier duty” guns or, I get sort of… mocked? I.e. “what protecting yourself from mice?” Which, was admittedly funny the first couple of times but, it’s happen so often that it just is grating. 

So, is .22 actually that weak/inefficient? Or is it just a gun owner inside joke? Thanks in advance, I apologize if this comes off as stupid or asinine.

Hard pass. SCCY is trash, and I'm no gun snob. If you're really trying to spend very little on a gun, the cheapest I'd go is a Taurus G2C, you can get them for about $250 and they shouldn't have any issues, good cheap beater guns. The SCCY is just going to piss you off and make you wish you bought something that doesn't suck
