  There are some downsides to this grinder depending on the intended coffee method. For drip or French Press, works great. If grinding for Espresso or Turkish style coffee, I would not recommend. The grinder is on the loud side, so if you don't want to wake up your house mates in the morning you may want to skip this grinder

As for me, I have preground espresso roast that I buy from the store and all of the people I live with are out of the house by the time I grind my coffee. disappointed with Cusinart - is it on the decline?

 Go ahead, left your DBM-8 to your ear, turn it a little bit, don't you hear those plastic bits falling around inside of it?  I bought one of these, but, because they are such poorly made devices, I am now on my third (technically, though I never actually laid hands on the second).  The first one broke after a few grinds. It ground, then ground to a halt, never again to grind. Hot tip! Get your replacement through Amazon, who will do it for free, and not Cuisinart, who will charge you $10

  I will now go order some much more expensive grinder made by whose brand is not Cuisinart, not because I want to pay more, but because I want one that works and has more mechanical staying power than an egg shell.  You have been warned.

NOT!! I’ve replaced the Cuisinart with a Segura burr grinder. So far it’s quieter and faster than my previous purchase.

 The grinder was set for six cups on a medium-coarse setting. Fortunately. someone was home to hear the beast roar! Now I leave the Cuisinart unplugged until I'm ready to use it. To its credit the grinder does an excellent job of grinding beans but I'm leery of leaving it connected to power since it may start up at any time

 Um, this one tastes like it ran a little fast because it did run pretty fast. I didn't build up very much pressure in the shot. I think it hit maybe four bar and finished in 13, 12, 13 seconds. So it tastes like that

 You know, looking at it, feeling it, it's so heavy. The machining on it is super nice, all the threads, everything about it just moves so smoothly it's yeah. I'm actually really impressed with this grinder so far so first impressions are great and taste wise can't complain, especially for a shot that ran the way it did. It was pretty good

 So this coffee I've actually been pulling turbo shots with uh with my Df and also with my owed my own is off camera here with these Caspers, these two and I've been pulling this at about 65 micron bur gap on this P100 that's going to equate to about eight, eight and a half. So that's what I'll set this grinder to now. So the first thing I'll do is actually purchase grinder with a handful of beans. So I got some beans here and we can purge it

 I would say a little peachy, not very floral, and that's just the characteristic of this coffee. And I think dialing this grinder in a little bit more, going a little bit finer. I'll be getting a little bit more creaminess out of it, a little less harshness and acidity, so stay tuned. I I'm going to be testing this grinder quite a bit, comparing it to the multi-purpose Burst and the Df64 and ultimately I will be comparing it to the Caspers
