  Folks, this is a $42 wrist watch. And I think it is an incredible value for $42. So here are some thoughts and comments:  First, the nylon band is quite comfortable, much more comfortable than the resin bands found on most of the Casio G-Shock watches. The band seems stiff at first, but in short order it will soften up and contour to your wrist

  On the down side: The the leather ends that attach the band to the watch are pretty much completely worn out, but the fabric looks essentially new. I don't think it is ready to fall off my wrist, but the band is starting to look a bit shabby.  After 4 years of hard use and abuse it is time to replace the strap and possibly the battery. As I mentioned in my initial review, the cost of a replacement cloth/leather band and a new battery come quite close to the current price of a totally new watch (about $38 today)

 The timer, barometer/altimeter, alarms and displays are all still working as they should. The alarm is still loud enough to wake me up when needed. None of the functions have failed. The watch is still waterproof (I have not replaced the main seal/gasket)

Good, rugged and comfortable watch

 It's not a good choice if the main thing you want to be able to do is glance at it very quickly and see instantly what time it is. That said, the buttons work well and it looks like it can take some abuse. I've had lousy luck getting Timex watches to last, so if this proves to be durable, it's probably worth it even though I paid extra for features I'll never use.

the thermometer is useless because you're supposed to have the watch off of ...

 So, I tend to not wear it when I am warmer that comfort allows. The back-light lasts only for what seems to be 1.5 or 1.0 seconds, I find myself pushing it more than once to see the items I am wishing to see

Exactly what I needed/wanted in a digital watch

This watch is smaller than the 50 mm I expected but the quality look and feel makes up for it. I presume they measured side to side including the sensor on the left side of the crown. Numbers are smaller than expected in the face of the timepiece but clean and clear. Strap is 100% great

 I replaced the battery and it worked for about 12 hours, then died. I replaced the battery again, same results.  Since it is past the 1-year point I'm not even going to bother contacting Casio. From what everyone else says it would be a wasted effort

 Now, the price points are just continuing to go down and staying true to form as the SK X goes up and the orient make of three line is now out and available, not as available as this. You will find these watches everywhere. So for that all being said, I honestly think for under a hundred and fifty dollars, I think this possibly is the best automatic diver watch that you can find I think it comes down to the orient Mako 2 and then also the Orient ray line I think they both provide a ton of value and it's really a matter of preference but I'd love to see comments put down below. What do you guys think for the best affordable diver with a comparable price point to this watch? So I'm going to be giving away this watch in this upcoming month

 So now when looking at this watch is dialing design I Think this is really where things start to stand out. When you look through the mineral glass of this watch, you will see a beautiful blue sunburst dial. for this particular variation that features a mix of indices and numerals on the dial which I feel look very well balanced with the day date function at the three o'clock position, the deep blue dial looks great in and out of light with its sunburst effects. It has awesome dimensions which can be accommodating to many risks with that 41 point five millimeter case that 47 lug to lug height and thickness that I think where is even smaller with its more curved case design I Love these sword hands on this watch and the mixed numerals and applied indices I think I Personally prefer this model over the Orient Ray line

Orient Mako II Review | The Best Affordable Mechanical Diver?

 The rotating bezel is *MUCH* harder to use than a Triton. It's a real pain in the ****. Overall the watch scores a 10 on looks, but in terms of scoring it's mechanical user interface, it's very disappointing. I'd score it as a 5, lower than any other Orient watch I own

 This Mako II is the first Orient watch I've had that has had this problem. The fit and finish of the Mako II are generally nice, but it seems that Orient is beginning to cut corners in manufacturing, which is disappointing to me as an Orient collector. The case for the new-production Mako II just doesn't seem as well made as my other watches, like the Sun and Moon, Triton, Classic and Bambino.  Regarding the Mako II in general, there are some things about it that I like and some things that I don't like

 All in all, it's a very decent watch for the money. Orient's are in general a great bang for the buck mechanical watch. The Mako II has a classic dive watch appearance that looks great on the wrist. Cosmetically I love the "Pepsi" Mako II appearance

You are not going to find better for the price.

 I'm completely happy with that for the price. -its more water resistant then I will ever test. CONS: -awful bracelet, I bent both stock spring bars due to the badly designed stamped end-links (I upgraded to a Strapcode Endmill, the difference bit makes is huge!!! See bracelet in picture) -crown is almost too small and deep set for my large fingers to get purchase on it to unscrew. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning

 PROS: -Hacking and hand winding movement. -great size, fits most wrists well (my wristbis almost 8 inches) -screw down crown -day/date complication -pretty good bezel action (120 click), with lume pip -all around attractive dial, and hand-set -accuracy is quite good, it's runs 3-4 seconds fast a day. I'm completely happy with that for the price. -its more water resistant then I will ever test
